Whatâs everyone doing today?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, USA! ![]()
Happy Fourth of July, everyone!! Have a great day.

Yay! Time to see Ratatouille again! I have nothing else to do today, besides the fact that my family will have some friends over for a small picnic and an afternoon in the hot summer heat. Oh, and I almost forgot about the concert at the park. Iâll have to check that out, as wellâŠ
Busy busy! Thank goodness that Ratatouille is now playing. Oh! I forgot that Transformers is out now, too! Gee whiz, which one should I see today? Hmm⊠Ah heck, itâs no contest. (snigger)
Have a great time, everyone! ![]()

Happy 4th of July! ![]()
SoâŠAnyone care to educate me on what today represents, and what it means to you? What are you all gonna do to celebrate? ![]()
lizardgirl - On July 4th, 1776 (I believe), the United States of America proclaimed itâs freedom and independence. Our job is to keep it that way.
![]()
For me, it means freedom and individuality. It also represents a time to thank God for our independence. (Yay!) ![]()
Mitch- Wow, so it really is a very important day! Freedom and independance is something pretty much all nations strive for, and it is indeed something to celebrate.
So, what kind of stuff do you plan on doing? I know thereâs fireworks involved, from a certain someoneâs avatar⊠![]()
Happy 4th of July to all of you Americans out there! ![]()
I think that the 4th of July is very similar to the Portuguese April 25thâŠ
Fourth of July nights are always heck. =P Like thunderstorms, you spend all night trying to get it through the dogsâ heads that theyâre not protecting us from anything and barking certainly wonât make it all go away. =P
Otherwise, my aunts and uncles and cousins are in town, but theyâve done well to avoid us, and I can care less.
Most probably weâll have a barbecue or something here.
Happy Fourth of July everyone!! ![]()
I might as wellâŠ
The fireworks are just a traditional form of celebrating today. Just like you put up christmas lights for Christmas.
Thatâs about it concerning the fireworks. ![]()
lizardgirl - Pixfan is right concerning the fireworks. Itâs just our way of expressing our exuberance and gratification in honor of the holiday. Theyâre such a big deal that some people will set off fireworks in their backyard (which is illegal in some states), whilst others (like one of our neighbors) will invest in a collection of fire crackers.
Such things as concerts and city-wide festivities may also occur. Our park, one that is just two blocks away from my house, for example, draws a band there every year. Participants say the Pledge of Allegiance and quote the National Anthem, after which music is played and food is served around the clock. (Gosh, I hope they play country music this year!) Itâs actually alot of fun. The only bad thing is that our street looks like Disneyland â two billion people arrive on the scene to attend the concert, and they almost always park near our driveway first (because we have the big trees that shade cars from the sun).
It is alot of fun, though! I canât wait to see the fireworks from my rooftop⊠![]()

I could see fireworks from my rooftop, if my parents would only let me. =P lol.
Lucky for me my house is right in front of a football field so I can see shows right from my porch! Got to see an early one yesterday. ![]()

Happy Independence day, Forth of July, Birthday America, anything you want to call it!
Our town is having a big fireworks display tonightâŠI canât wait! ![]()
Personally I think allot of people have forgotten the relevance of the Fourth of July and be a bit more passive by going with the two most common traditions, âCookoutsâ and âFireworksâ.
Heh. Had ourselves a good storm today so fireworks had to be pushed back for tonight. No biggy I guess.
Iâm on my laptop right now outside enjoying the fireworks in my neighborhood. Have any of yâall watched any fireworks yet?
Gasduude - Ours got rained out. ![]()
