Happy Birthday!!
In the past 10 days, Mr. Stanton has twittered twice, extensively. It’s linked in the “Pixarians on twitter” thread. If you have ever used this or seen the results, it’s not quite like an interview. Hmmm, well it’s not my style, but there are lots of questions asked of him that interviewers don’t often ask. If a question was asked of him that he doesn’t like or has been asked too much, he gives a stock answer. Many of the answers, imho, come off as kinda off-the-cuff smart-alecky, given that he does not have enough time to actually be funny. Well, that didn’t come off exactly right; rephrasing: he doesn’t seem to have enough time to refine his answers. He is always talking about “rewrite, rewrite, etc…”, and twitter doesn’t allow this luxury.
Almost two months late, but happy belated birthday to one of my favourite Pixarians!
Oops, his birthday was over a month ago. Oh well, he never wishes me happy b-day, and he probably never has read any of this, so…
So, what project is he on now? Did the FN2 rumor get squelched or is still simmering?
But I just can’t believe who was slated to do the writing, that person hasn’t done anything of note. I can’t help thinking about an old best friend of mine, he had just gotten his M.D. degree and was being approached by all these golddigger young ladies. I warned him without hitting him on the head with something, but realize I should have been blunt, and vigorous that he was being used for his future money and status by these women. If he was a friend of mine, and he was back then, then I had a responsibility to go a step beyond being ‘nice’ about the issue. So even tho this has been a b-nice b-day thread, perhaps this year we should also be saying “Finding Nemo2, great! Just make sure it’s great…”
Egads, happy belated birthday, Mr Stanton! I truly enjoyed rewatching Finding Nemo in THREE-DEEE last year, and I look forward to buying Wall-E on Blu-Ray for my next paycheck!
