To everyone who’s Irish or “Irish” today! I am part Irish so that’s fun. Luck o’ the Irish and all that
In case you wonder what Proposition 3-17 is in my sig, it’s a campaign put out by Guiness to try and make St. Patty’s Day an official national holiday (you know, where you’d get the day off and stuff)
Wow … I forgot that is today.
Lucky I’m not wearing green - almost did. I like to mess with people’s heads because they assume that because I’m a red head that I’m Irish, and I claim to be anything but. People shouldn’t stereotype- I’m only like 2 percent. ![]()
Weeee!! Corned beef tonight then! ![]()
A guy in my physics class brought in a massive Guinness hat with a luck clover on the front, as well as a pair of guinness spectacles made out of paper. The hat was awesome, and ended up getting passed around the whole college. ![]()
The Irish have possibly the best accent ever. Just hearing an Irish person say the word ‘leprechaun’ makes me smile.
Happy St. Patricks day, everyone! ![]()
It’s Saint Patrick’s Day? Man, where does the time fly to? I really must get in with the program…
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day, everyone! I hope that it’s a fun one. ![]()
Heh. I remember that I went to Disneyland with my family on Saint Patrick’s Day once. I forgot to wear any green attire on that day, and everyone was pinching me because of it. It was terrible. (snigger)
lizardgirl - Ha-ha! I like the “hat” story. ![]()

I need to buy a calendar or something…
Good thing I always wear a green jacket. ![]()
Okay, I’ve kinda gotten on my own little tradition, and every St. Patrick’s Day now, I have to watch this video. It was made by Big Idea (the guys behind VeggieTales - which I might add it the BEST Christian show for kids!!), and it tells the story of St. Patrick in a VERY FUNNY way by spoofing films like Monty Python and a slight Star Trek reference.
Trust me, go watch it.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!! ![]()
I found it insulting. Pagans don’t pray to twigs.
Or ponds.
I’ll refrain from unleashing my fury here.
CGI Clownfish - Ha! You know what, I meant to play that very video for my little sister today, as we own it, but I never did get to it. One of the reasons behind that is due to the fact that that particular VeggieTales show is my least favorite in the Big Idea DVD collection. I absolutely hate it, which is too bad… as I love pretty much everything that Big Idea rolls out onto the shelves. (snigger)
Thanks for the link, though! ![]()

FONY - I am really sorry, and I meant no offense.
It’s all right - I’ve cooled off now but it’s just insults on religion, any religion really not just my own, get to me. I’m glad I refrained from anything I wanted to say - I would’ve looked a bit silly getting all steamed about a cartoon of talking vegetables. ![]()
HAPPY SAINT PATRICK’S DAY! ![]()
I probably have the most Irish surname EVER, so I should have made the effort on this day but I don’t own anything green to wear, and it was way too hot to venture to one of the Irish pubs in the city… There’s always next year.
Happy Saint Pattys day to all here at PP.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, even though, uh…
I don’t care cause it’s such a pointless holiday…

…green has nothing to do with it. LOL
Why do the Irish get their own holiday in America and the Afghans, Albanians, Algerians, Andorrans, Angolans, Antiguans and Barbudans, Argentinians, Armenians, Australians (especially the Australians), Austrians, Azerbaijanians, Bahamans, Bahrainians… goes on for quite a while, skipping Spain and the United States and putting special emphasis on Canadians, French, and Mexicans …Vaticans, Venezuelans, Vietnamese, Yemenis, Zambians, and Zimbabweans not get their own American holiday? ![]()
Is anyone listening? xD
Happy Don’t Call It St. Patty’s Day! ![]()
Is St. Patrick’s day celebrated so widely? I never realised!
It is very important to the Irish though. And, believe it or not, A113, green does have something to do with it- I don’t know any of the details, but the English actually banned the Irish from wearing green in an attempt to suppress them during some war or another. So, the right to wear green is very important to them. ![]()
And as for why it’s celebrated in America…Well, I guess there are a fair amount of Irish Americans. As well as the fact that the Irish are known for their national pride- I have no idea when St. George’s day is! ![]()
Just currious, did all of you where green on that day? I didn’t and got pinched 5 times at school.
[b]lizardgirl:[b] Oh, I see. But there are more African-Americans, and Mexican-Americans, and Acadian-Americans, and all that. Why don’t they get their own American holiday?
Oh, well. xD
