Has a movie been really important to your life?

Clone high-five!!

I really like the name change for this thread. Because I wouldn’ t say I am obsessed with Princess and the Frog, but really has been important to my life.

I remember seeing trailors for the movie last year, and I got super excited. One thing I liked about it was that it took place in New Orleans. The city looked so beautiful in that movie. When our Youth Group were deciding to do our annual Mission trip, I convinced everyone we should go to New Orleans.

That trip changed my life. I never thought to see such poverty in the United States. Much of the city still looks like a war zone.Hurricane Katrina was not just a natural disastor, it was a human disastor.

I spent a week working as a camp counsuler at a camp in the Ghetto. The kids didn’t want to go, but had too. It was like a sanctuary for them.

I now am very thankful for all that I have. I love New Orleans and it’s people, they have so much hope for the rebirth of their city despite the horrors they saw. If it wasn’t for Princess and the Frog we might of gone someplace else. So yeah, that movie is very important to me.

IV: Oh, it’s not offensive at all (at least to me). I just felt it was insidious and could be phrased better. I do like your new title, it sounds great!

Qu’est-ce-que c’est un ‘redcoat’?

EJE: I love PaTF!! I caught it on Starz the other day, and I really like her green dress. The blue one reminded me too much of Cinderella’s, though…

Glad you guys prefer the new title.

It’s a slang term Americans use to describe the British. Because during the American Revolution, the British army wore red uniforms, hence “Redcoats” and “Lobsterbacks”

It use to be a deragatory word, but nowadays it has a more friendly/joking connotation to it.

I thought you Yanks call 'em Limies. The Aussie here call 'em Pommies for some reason (I always thought it’s the other way round)

No offense to our Li- I mean Brit friends.

lol, 'Limies" is another word for them! Haha, Pommies? It reminds me of the German word for French Fris.

lol, I and I agree, no offense to the awesome Brit members here! I like the British, in fact, I’m trying to convince my parents to let me study a semester abroad in London.

Pommies makes me think of pomegranate.

Right now, I guess every Pixar movie is important to me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yay!! High-five!!
(I wasn’t too hot on TS3, but I enjoy all their movies) :frowning:

Well, there hasn’t really been a movie that’s been really important to me. Except maybe Up counts since I need to listen to Married Life in order to play it by ear? :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, that counts!!

The most important film I’ve seen was probably WALL-E. I loved it so much that it inspired me to aim at working for Pixar.

Same here and it still does, when i was 9 I was Crazy about the incredibles, it had me thinking i was a superhero and now i’m Crazy and Nuts about How to train your dragon now i wish i was a viking

That’s awesome, Guitarlynn53!! I love both the movies you said. <3

Well a movie can REALLY win me over sometimes, and i’ll figuretively speaking watch it all week, then it will cool off, then decide how much I like it. E.g. Speed, It was always one of my top 3 favourite movies, then it kind of cooled off about 2 years ago, and it’s not among my favourite movies but I still like it XD

But for one ermmm… either Grease when I was like 8 or something I always wanted to be Danny as a kid he was cooool, and Toy Story because it was my number one movie from like age 3-6 years old. Still right up there among them now.

Ah, yes. I still obssess over the first two TS’s. <3 Toy Story 2 is tied with The Incredibles for my favorite movie ever.

after seeing the third installment of the Chronicles of Narnia, I was remembered how much these movies mean to me <3 the third one wasn’t exactly up to par, but it was still extremely enjoyable. I love the Christian messages that they have, and watching them again reminds me how kind and loving Jesus is, and how thankful I should be for that. So thank you Narnia, you changed my life forever.

I really liked The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. I loved it. And I agree about the Christianity. But I didn’t like Prince Caspian, and haven’t seen the new one. :frowning:

^ I didn’t like Prince Caspian either, but the new one is pretty good!
