Help and Advice for a Pixar Project!?!

Hi I’m new on these forums (‘so play nice!’ :stuck_out_tongue: ), so feel free to move this topic if I’ve posted it in the wrong place. I’m a 17 year old student in the UK, and am/always have been a huge Pixar fan (I have a feeling one or two other pepole on here may be too! ). I plan to work in the film industry when I’m older, but to work for Pixar would just be the ultimate dream job for me.

I’m currently preparing to do what is called an extended project in school on top of my other studies, in which we can do anything (well, almost anything! :unamused: ); I have naturally decided to do it on Pixar as I know a lot about it and it is obviously the finest film company in the world! The only problem is, I don’t know what to do it on! Pixar has such a long and strong heritage, which continues today. I need to set myself a question or a topic soon, and it needs to be analytical, evaluative, etc. Oh, and I only have a 5,000 word limit to do it all in!!!

“Buzz, could you give me a hand here? Ha-ha, ha-ha. That’s real funny; THIS IS SERIOUS!”

So I’m wondering if you guys and gals could possibly lend me a hand in setting myself a question. I need to be able to do it within 5,000 words, and it has to be something I can analyse or evaluate. I could really do with some ideas, so I thought I’d find the pros!

Thanks in advance :sunglasses:

Well, first off… Welcome to the forums!

Hmm… Aren’t broad projects fun? :stuck_out_tongue: My two cents is to do it on either the process they go through to make the movies, or a brief history over the studio itself. Maybe write about one director in particular, and what they have brought to the creative table, or how each film raises the standard for the studio.

I know I’ve fallen onto those subjects in the past when I’ve done free writing for class, because when you love a subject, the maximum limit may seem like too much. Can’t tell you all the countless times I’ve had to go back and edit to keep only the important things in.

What you could do is how Pixar made Toy Story the first 3D film, Pixar used the technolagy from show body parts I think, you can do that there mate
It’s just a wacky idea

Welcome to the forums! I enjoyed reading your post chalk full of quotes! And yes, we around here do love our Pixar, haha!

Anyway, that sounds really vague, but maybe you can write an essay comparing Pixar to other studios or something? You can evalute their histories, storys, sucesses/failures, animation styles, or what not. I don’t knoe if that helps any.
