Help remembering a Pixar promo video?

So yeah, I need you guys to help me recall this promo video I’ve seen before. I had a flash of it while I was writing about how if Pixar characters were real and ‘diversity hire’ and all that in the ‘Bear and the Bow logo’ thread, but basically it’s a video (I think it was a podcast, or it could be a featurette) where it’s the usual Pixar studio tour, except it was shot in-house and not from an external visiting organisation.

The characters from the various movies (pre Wall-E/Ratatouille) were composited into the shots to make it look like they were walking around as if they were real employees in the studio, and they even exchanged conversations or interjected whenever the presenter was showing something, but most of the time, they were just silent cameos. I think some of the animation was also new and not merely ‘comped’ from existing footage.

The clearest scene I could remember was when the presenter was in the ‘render farm’ (where I first learned of its existence in Pixar and in basically any other animation studio on the planet) and Edna Mode was standing on one of the towers saying something (that was definitely new footage, she said something unique).

Does anyone remember seeing this video, or am I just delusional? I think it was shown either before Cars or Ratatouille’s release, and I think I saw it on Youtube. I don’t think it was a special-feature only available on DVD, and it was a ‘public access’ promo vid.

I believe you are referring to the Pixar 20th Anniversary Special that aired on ABC in 2006, along with Toy Story 1.

I have never seen/heard of this before in my life, but I really really want to see it!

It starred John Ratzenberger (naturally) as he chased after Lightning McQueen.

That sounds about the right time period of release, pixarfan9099. Would you happen to know whether I can find this online or on any of the DVDs?

Ooooh, this sounds really really familiar! I remember seeing some Pixar special on ABC in 2006, but I only saw half of it since I had to go to bed.
