Hey boys and girls.
Just wondering if you guys could help me with something.
I read for like half a year ago an article (online) about a young man who started working at Pixar as an assistant or a technician or something like that, and he started do drawings on his free time and forgot some in the copy room and someone found it and offered him a job, and he got the character design job for Ratatouille.
This interview and article was really truly inspiring to me and I would love it if someone knew who this guy was and had the link to the article.
Thanks in advance.
Simon.
The guy you’re thinking of is Jason Deamer.
I think it’s really cool how he got the job too!
He’s featured in the Art of Ratatouille and WALL•E a lot.
Here’s the interview from CG Society: features.cgsociety.org/story_cus … ry_id=4144
Hope I could help.
Oh YES that’s the one! Thank you so much, I also think it’s so cool he got the job, it gave me lots of hope to might be able to work for Pixar some day, I mean a Swedish boy from Sweden with not the best of training when it comes to art and CG stuff, don’t have much chance but this gave me hope.
So thanks.
I’m a huge fan of this guy’s doodles by the way.
“Killing Gusteau solved a lot of problems…"
Great article by the way
Heh, I even named an OC after him… well, half-OC I guess. He’s half mine and half Pixar’s.
I love this guy’s art. So freakin’ much. <3
