Hey!! Hey! Look at this!!!

So, I was listening to the Beauty and the Beast Diamond edition commentary the other day. Guess what? That movie was made in less than two years. And they said that the last dance in the ball room was exactly copied from Sleeping Beauty! Because they didn’t have time to choreograph it!!

O.o my mind, it is blown.

I know they did it for time reasons, but it just ends up being this awesome reference. Somewhat related- I recently read that the smoke in the transformation scene is actually from Black Cauldron. But you probably knew that- I imagine that’s on the commentary as well.

I can’t believe I never knew this! I knew the dancing in Robin Hood was traced over from Snow White’s dancing, but I never heard about this. That’s a really neat find!

That’s amazing! I never knew that, and I’ve been putting off watching the commentary but I think I might have to really soon now. That’s such a neat find

I’ve seen that before. It’s very cool. You know what else is crazy? That Ariel’s pink ball gown is a tribute to every other princess dress. Same with her blue villiage dress-

"Not many people are aware that Ariel’s pink evening gown was directly inspired by all three Disney Princesses prior. Her puffed shoulders are the same design of Snow White’s dress. The shoulder line and long sleeves come from Aurora. Then the bust cut, large skirt and overlaying fabric on the sides are from Cinderella’s ball gown. The soft pink color was chosen not from Aurora’s dress but Cinderella’s original pink dress that got destroyed by her stepsisters. "

The blue dress that Ariel wears to town with Eric is also a woven mush of dresses prior. The top half was taken from Briar Rose’s peasant outfit, the length of the skirt is the same as Snow White’s, the low neck line and the blue color scheme is of course from none other than Cinderella. (who, by the 1980’s was being advertised as having a blue dress)

Wow, that’s incredible…I always knew her village dress looked like Aurora’s!

Wow! That’s so cool, Kenzie!! Things like this make me so happy. 8D

This person on fanpop was written very informative articles on Disney Princesses. That’ss where I got the Ariel info.

She has articles called “Creating Belle: Stuff they Didn’t Tell you” (and articles like that for Jasmine, Auroroa, and Ariel. And then Art Behind Disney Leading Ladies.

here’s a link to her page, I suggest you check them out!

Wow!! I love that link. I read the whole Belle article. And the Princes one. Thanks!

No problem! I knew you’d like it.

Disney seem to copy a lot from film to film.

I found this video on youtube, which shows how much they copy from their other films. Most of Robin Hood looks like it came from other movies!

Holy freedom fries! That video is crazy! Thanks for sharing it.

Yeah, Robin Hood is pretty lame in the respect of creativity in every way.

Yeah, knew that for a while already. But I don’t blame Disney 'cuz animating from scratch is near impossible! :stuck_out_tongue: Especially on your own… sigh
