I just noticed something! How come Andy even has heard of Bonnie? does anyone know how they’re related?

I assume their just neighbors. sometimes it happens. people people meet other people who live near by. I doubt there’s any relation, we would have heard about it.
[spoil]At the end of the movie, Woody writes a note to Andy telling him to donate the toys to Bonnie.[/spoil] I hope that clears up any confusion.
Ah thanks. Was only wondering. I actually thought they were cousins, perhaps?
When Andy’s mom enters the daycare there is a conversation between her and Bonnie’s mom that show they know each other. Bonnie’s mom even asks how Andy is I think.
[spoil]And when Andy enters the yard at the end Bonnie’s mom exclaims “Andy?!” so she must have not seen him for quite a while but is still able to tell that it’s him.[/spoil]
At this point, I don’t know if this is considered a spoiler… I mean if by now you haven’t seen Toy Story 3, you probably shouldn’t be reading threads like this, but in the interest of being courteous:
When Andy’s mom takes the box of toys to Sunnyside to be donated, she has a conversation with Bonnie’s mom that leads us to believe that they are old friends. It doesn’t go into it in detail… maybe she used to take Molly to Sunnyside and that’s where they met, but nonetheless, the two families knew each other already.
To Fett101: You beat me to it…
Was it true or not that Bonnie was Andy’s cousin? I remember hearing that here.
It wasn’t metioned in the movie so it isn’t true.
One never knows. After all, it was all from the toys point of view so she could be revealed to be her cousin in a future novel or Toy Story Toon.
It might be possible, Flik-E, but I kind of doubt it. After all, the manner in which Andy’s mom was talking to Bonnie’s mom seemed more like they were friends, like suggested earlier in this thread, than siblings. But it’s always possible that Bonnie’s dad could be the one that’s related to Andy’s mom.
Andy says “[spoil]So you’re Bonnie?” Upon arriving to donate the toys. Even not being that close, seems he would know of his own cousin, or whatever she is to him. And she didn’t recognize him at all either. Andy and/or Molly probably attended Sunnyside which made Bonnie’s mom familiar with Andy, as well as being friends with Ms. Davis[/spoil]
I got the Art of TS3 book on Monday and just found something while reading it tonight: In the book is a page of story sketches from [spoil]the “Mom, do you think I should donate these?” scene that actually shows the Post-It note on the box, which gives Bonnie’s name as “Bonnie Anderson.” (Obviously, they ended up not showing the note, because it would have given away the ending; better that we don’t know where Andy’s taking the toys until he gets there. But it’s interesting to know Bonnie’s name.)[/spoil]
To answer the question, [spoil]I don’t think Bonnie and Andy are at all related. As discussed, it’s apparent from the early scene of Andy’s Mom at the daycare that she and Bonnie’s Mom are old friends who know about each other’s kids, even though they haven’t seen them often. Plus, we also know that they live in the same neighborhood. Andy’s Mom could have mentioned at home that she had seen Bonnie at Sunnyside and oh, my, how big she’s getting, and such a sweet little girl, etc etc., so that Andy wouldn’t be totally shocked at Mom suggesting he give Bonnie the toys (as he thinks).[/spoil]
I assumed that they were [spoil]neighbours (and as karly05, said, their mums are friends).[/spoil]
