It’s been a wonderful Christmas. It’s been great to spend time with my family, and I’ve been blessed with a lot this year. Tomorrow we’re heading down to Texas to visit with my dad’s side of the family.

So What is everyone doing for New Years?

Well I went to the service with my mum as planned, I was pretty tired from work though all the same so it was hard to concentrate. (Also I forgot the last song wasn’t holy night but “Little Town of Bethlehem” so disregard anything I said about holy night earlier in this thread.)

Pretty much all I remember apart from Candlelight was this cute nativity scene someone had made with knitted dolls and the fact the most commonly used phrase in the bible is (apparently) “Fear not.” according to the minister that night. But yeah, I was tired but went anyway. Tradition after all.

Christmas was overall pretty quiet. None of my cousins came, either being abroad or having their own immediate families/in laws to go to- just my aunts and uncle from my mothers side of the family along with my parents, sister and me at our house.

As for new years, I’m hoping to meet up with people, I am at least off on both the 1st and 2nd. Had to work Christmas Eve and I’ll have to work today though (just four hours but still, Boxing day should be for loafing around IMO. lol.)

For presents- I got books and dvds along with some money. I got my sister an easy to keep plant for her place etc.

Any new years resolutions guys? Or things you want to learn/read about in 2012? I kind of want to learn more on both astronomy and a variety of religions. Apparently Judaism is more interesting than I gave it credit for. (Namely the way they look various stories is generally different to Christianity’s way of looking at the same stories.) Also I really should read more of the Koran english translation I have, and get a book on Hinduism which is good on detail but takes into account the reader may be completely ignorant on certain things. (I have a book which is a bit too advanced- as in someone who has already read alot on Hinduism, as well as a book on a few Hindu stories- but I need one which is more for beginners beyond my ‘short introduction’ book). Also Sikhism, just because I don’t know anything about it at all. (Literally nothing).

A bit late, but these were my Christmas presents:

-A new batch of socks
-A new batch of cologne
-3 new PS3 games (NASCAR Unleashed, Monopoly and Monopoly Streets)
-A blu-ray player
-A Star Wars puzzle
-An MP3 player
-A hoodie and leather jacket
-A salt shaker for popcorn

From my dad’s family I got:

The Cars 2 soundtrack
The new Burlap to Cashmere album
A stuffed penguin that has a “stomach” that you can take out and warm up in the microwave (I named him Midgel  )
A bunch of stuff to make cupcakes with
$45 (which I will be spending on a couple of Pixar soundtracks, an Owl City album and a new sketchbook)
And a bunch of candy and stocking trinkets

My brothers and I really raked in the Cars stuff this year. Between us, we got the Cars 2 soundtrack, a Cars 2 calendar, a remote control Lightning McQueen, a Shake 'n Go Proffessor Z, Christmas themed Lightning and Ramone diecasts, a couple of little notebooks, Lightning McQueen slippers and a Cars graphic novel.

Last day of 2011 where I am. What’s everyone doing?

At the moment i’m getting ready to go to my friend’s party tonight. The dress code is to dress classy. There’ll be swing dancing, food, and SNL. Going to be great.

I went out to eat. That’s all. I will go outside at midnight and bang on a pan or something.

New Year’s is my personal least favorite holiday; but this year, I did enjoy it okay. Lady Gaga pulled the switch! That made me very happy, and I had my beloved black eyed peas. <3 I still have to open presents from my mom’s parents lol.

I alway’s like to watch the ball drop.

Since the holidays are over should we lock this thread up?

They probably will. 2011 is over. 8D

Okay mods, whoever see’s this lock this up please.

Will do.
