How can I get Buzz to sit properly?

Its a royal pain trying to get Buzz to sit down- most of the time he wants to recline or stick his feet up in the air.

Is there any way I can get a pose like this? -

I’ve never been able to get my Buzz Lightyear to sit normally. But I have the 1999 version, if that makes any difference.

Yeah, the new one is more flexible in the hip department. I’m not sure if you can do it exactly the way it is in the movie, but bending the torso forward would help with balance, while spreading his legs more would help get him forward.

Aw, tht almost makes me want the new one. Almost…

I have one were his ‘body’ is plastic and the rest is plush-like YD he falls over a lot YD and i have a full on plush but he’s perfect to sleep with YDDD
I usually give my dolls things to lean on. I have a Beast doll (in Adam form) and i have him sitting on my desk leaning his back on my stereo and i have a Jessie doll sitting on his lap and his arms are up so she wont fall over YD it looks cute though cause he just looks like he’s holding her.

The one I have is the Disney Store Buzz, so he doesn’t have the rubber mid section. I was thinking about taking a Dremel and taking out some of his hip socket; so the socket would be taller (if that makes sense) allowing his leg to move higher up. Might try to take out some of his crotch too, so he can sit without splaying his legs. I’ll see how that works -Omar

For the TSC figure, the backpack weighs him down a bit. In a few scenes, it looks like his torso and thigh overlap, while in others, it looks like his leg is angled sideways, which can’t be done with the real-life toys.

EDIT: I guess it is possible, the 1995 4" figures can sit forward with ease.

Hey Omar, I think for the TSC Buzz to sit down like he does in your picture, I think there should be one more forward click stop in Buzz’s waist, if you know what I mean.

Thanks guys; the pic is actually from TS3, in the home movies segment, so of course Pixar cheated

My Buzz has a hard plastic waist (Disney Store Buzz) so I can’t get his waist to move. I’d have to figure a way to fix his hips for more articulation -Omar
