How obsessed are you with "Cars"?

My friends think the devil took over my mind. I say

it’s just pure fandom.

-I watched the trailers online and on the The Incredibles, Toy Story, and Toy

Story 2 DVDs a million times.
-I wrote a countdown in my blog and in my instant messenger profile so all my

friends could see my obsession.
-I visited the “Cars Road Trip” the minute it came in our city,

where I saw models of Sally and Lightning McQueen and got posters and trading cards, plus meeting several Pixar

arists who were admiring the model cars.
-I dream about Cars in my sleep almost every single night.
-I

probably spend several hours a day reading articles and reviews for Cars.
-Everytime I see a real car on the

road I think about Cars.
-I made it so I can get my driver’s license the month that Cars comes out just so I

can say that.
-I got my uncle to get tickets for me for a preview screening before Cars even came out to

theaters.
-I bought the soundtrack and have listened to it at least twice a day since it came out.
-I

bought “The Art of Cars” and got it signed by two Pixar artists.
-On opening day, I went with about

a dozen of my friends to see it again.
-That same day, I saw a person with a Cars jacket on, and she turned

out to be one of the artists on the film!
-I’ve been posting on the IMDB message boards for several months,

defending Cars’ excellence.
-Although I don’t have any toys yet, I plan to get some models of Lightning,

Mater, Sally, Doc, and Guido plus a T-shirt with the Cars logo on it very soon.
-I saw Cars for the third time

last week.
-I took a trip to another country and everytime I saw a Cars billboard or TV spot I would

applaud.
-I signed up for PixarPlanet because I love Pixar!

Here we go:

-I started obsessing about the movie even before I saw any posters… inbetween Monsters, Inc.

and Finding Nemo
-I’ve made a lot of Cars icons, banners and layouts
-My desktop currently has a big

picture of Mater on it
-Before I turn my laptop off, you can hear Mater saying, ‘Da-gum!’
-I put a

countdown (that started in the hundreds) on my MSN list and manually changed it everyday
-I saved every

wallpaper, ad, and picture from the official Cars website onto my laptop… and I subscribed to the podcast!
-I

watched Japanese and French trailers of Cars almost every day until the brand new trailer came out
-I created

a Cars community in February called cars_pixar on LiveJournal
-I went on the Cars Road Trip '06, took tons of

pictures, and despite being much older than the kids, I STILL drew a picture of McQueen so I could get a free

toy, haha!
-When I got my job at the movie theatre, they put your favourite movie right below your name tag…

guess what movie I chose. :stuck_out_tongue:
-I got a HUGE theatre poster of Cars from my movie theatre
-I brought along my

Mater plushie when going to see Cars for the first time with a bunch of my friends
-I have five Disney’s Cars

plushies on my window right now (McQueen, Sally, Mater, Guido and Luigi)
-I also have Cars foam spray, a

container of Cars Cookies, two other Cars posters besides the one I got from the movie theatre, the Cars

soundtrack (which I plan to get signed by Randy Newman when I see him in concert in October!) and a bunch of

small merchandise that I’ll need to check upstairs for, hehe.
-I would check IMDB.com everyday until Cars

came out since the beginning of the year, since it was the most popular forum to talk about the movie at that

time.
-I have now created a countdown on my MSN name to the DVD of Cars!
-After watching the movie, I went

to a cottage with my family, and while driving, it made me appreciate the road a lot more (I would listen to

songs from the soundtrack during this time as well)
-I say quotes from Cars almost everyday to people… you

know… ‘Ka-chow!’, and ‘Pit-stop!’ Hehe.
-I have an urge to write a petition to get the rest of Randy

Newman’s score of Cars available to the public!
-The last four digits of my new cell number are CARS.

Not quite to the same degree as you two, but I was waiting

outside the cinema at 8 am for the 10 am showing, before the first employee had even arrived, and I’m collecting

the die-casts, even though it’s more or less impossible to find them anywhere except online. So far I’ve got

Lightning, Mater, Sally, Dinoco Lightning, DJ, Ramone, and Flo. I would be so extraordinarily happy if they made

a Pizza Planet truck die-cast, but the chances of that happening are slim to none. :unamused: And I’ve seen the

movie five times, once at a drive-in, which was an incredible experience despite the inferior sound and picture

quality. :smiley: Hopefully I’ll be seeing it at least one more time before it leaves theaters.

Amen! I was so disappointed that Doc’s theme didn’t make it onto the CD. Worse

than that, perhaps, is all the music that was cut from “The Piston Cup” and “The Big Race.”

Why wouldn’t they put the entire songs on the soundtrack?

I know what you mean. So far I’ve only been able to find four in stores; McQueen,

Mater, Ramone and Flo- and they came together. Looks like I’ll just have to go online.

should write about my own obsessions now. Lesse…

-I went with my sister to see “Cars” when it

opened.
-I have since then seen it three more times. :sunglasses:
-I have 54 Cars-related webpages bookmarked in my

favorites, most of which are YouTube videos, and most of which I visit frequently.
-I made a

fanvid about Cars.
-I have oodles of screenshots,

wallpapers, posters, and other Cars pictures from online in my documents.
-(points to sig) Look what I do in

my spare time. :unamused:
-I own the soundtrack, Ramone, Sally, and Fillmore Happy Meal toys, two McQueen

keychains, McQueen and Luigi cereal toys, a Mater plushie, a Lightning McQueen racing jacket, a red t-shirt with

McQueen and the King, and the die-casts I mentioned above.
-Tacked to my bulletin board is a newspaper review

of Cars. The review was a little negative, but it has a great big picture of Sally which makes an awesome

reference.

Nice work. :slight_smile: Of course I know nothing about art, but I’m pretty sure

I’d know if something looked bad, and that certainly doesn’t.

I noticed you and some other people

wondering what the Michael Schumacher Ferrari said; I don’t know Italian, but taking my knowledge of Spanish and

extrapolating it to Italian, I’m 99.99547207% sure that the first part of what he says is "I hope your

friend gets better soon," and from the word “fantasticci” (probably misspelled) in the second part

of what he says, I’m going to guess that he probably says, "I’ve heard that he (or his tires?) are

fantastic."

And I have now seen the movie in theaters six times. :smiley: I really want to see it at least

once more and take a notepad along with me, because my DetailMan powers have been kicking in but I’ve been

having a hard time remembering a lot of the stuff. Like the Latin motto above the entrance of the courtroom, for

example, or the license plates hanging on the porch of Lizzie’s shop.

I was briefly obsessed. I just couldn’t stop quoting it.

And I kept saying ‘Pip stop’ every few seconds. Drove people nuts. And then I saw Godspell and RENT again and

… I was bitten by the musical bug. =P Not that I don’t like Cars- I’m just waiting till the DVD comes out

before I watch it again. I’m looking forward to seeing the extra features! :smiley:

And I can’t wait to see what kind of detailing you do with this

movie! In this fanvid you can get screenshots of all the

bumper stickers in Lizzie’s shop! I tried to read what they say, but they’re all pretty blurry; I could only

get a few. Maybe you can have better luck!

I think I have two - McQueen

and Luigi. They were a graduation present, so I’m not quite sure where they’re from. Are they the little

chibi-looking toys?

The only obsession I have with Cars is the "Life is a

Highway" Song. I listened to it all day just to have it memorized.

I’m nowhere near you guys, but I was totally ADAMANT that

I would not see a film in theatres all through 2006 UNITL I saw Cars. I was also

ADAMANT that I would have see Cars on Opening Weekend (Sunday), which was a COMPLETE first for me!

I’m more obsessed than is probably healthy. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve bought all kinds of Cars stuff (including things that were meant for people a lot younger than me, like

coloring books) I even got that one that has the removable tatoos and i’ve used a few of them! I’ve listened to

the soundtrack almost every day for the past few weeks. I read all my Cars books yesterday. I draw them as well.

:smiley: I went to see it 13 times. We drove to chicago for a beatles convention last month and it was at night. All i

could think about was that road trip/McQueen getting lost bit with that music playing in my head! We passed a few

truck stops and i kept saying “Look at all those sleepin trucks!”
