Katie: (can I call you that?) Well, my parentsdon’t like me liking Pixar. They and my siblings tease the living soul out of me for it. Now if I told them I was wanting to send a letter to someone there, they might go nuts! And for how much it would cost too.
My sister already ratted out my draft on my phone and laughed at it. So embarassing.
So you see, I might wait a while and tell them when the time is right.
And good luck with your letter! Thanks for saying mine was good.
I’m so sorry for you Biggest_Pixar_Fan_Ami hopefully you can change their minds about Pixar. Also just because they don’t like something you do shouldn’t make them disallow you from getting an autograph from your hero.
I’m so sorry Biggest_Pixar_Fan_Ami. Pixar is just so … amazing. I wish that your family could see that. Like YouAreAToy said, just because they don’t like something shouldn’t prevent you from getting an autograph from your hero.
Thanks for the encouraging words YouAreAToy and Katie I’m feeling a little bit better. But they’ll never really appreciate Pixar, no matter how much I persuade them.
In fact, they’ll take it the opposite way and ban me from anything to do with the company.
They never bought me the Cars DVD because I went on about it so much. If they did get me it, they thought they’d never hear the end of it.
But you’re right, they should learn to respect my opinions. I wish they’d open their eyes. I’m still scared to tell them though.
Oh, and Pete Docter isn’t my hero, John Lasseter is. But PD is my second favourite Pixarian!
John Lasseter’s my hero too, and Pete Docter’s my second. I wish that everyone could see Pixar’s brilliance like we all do, but sadly it’s pretty much just us here and people that are all-around movie freaks. I mean, other people know PIxar’s a great family company yada yada, but they don’t really know them. It bugs me when people think a Dreamworks movie is Pixar, or vice versa.
I hope everything goes well for you with your familia I’m sure, when the time is right, they’ll understand and accept you, because after all they are your family. That’s what they’re there for.
Hi you guys~ I just sent off a letter to Pete Docter. I can’t wait for his reply. I also sent off one to Ed Asner. I hope he signs my UP picture. That would be incredible.
Thanks again, Katie! I’ll wait til they’re in a good mood (don’t know when that will be ) But you’re right, they “should” support me in this.
I asked my dad yesterday how much it would be to send a letter overseas, but he didn’t know. He said it varies, depending on which country you’re sending to. He also said your letter gets weighed When I have enough money to send for it myself, I’ll do it. My parents can’t complain then.
Yosh: Good luck with your letter! Looks like Pete’s a popular person lately And I hope Ed Asner replies too, that would be seriously cool!
Uh-oh, looks like I won’t be able to post the letter anytime soon… I’m going on a caravan vacation for a week, starting Saturday. I don’t know whether this would be a good time to ask my parents about sending it, even with my own money. Oh well, I’ll see what I can do.
They really can’t refuse you, Ami, especially if you’re paying for it with your own money. Good luck with telling them about it, and I hope you get a reply from Pixar!
Yeah mine either, YouAreAToy. Sadly When it comes though, I’ll be thrilled. Sometimes it feels like John Lasseter isn’t even real, I don’t know why. I guess because I’ve only ever seen him on YouTube or some Pixar specials on TV. Having this autograph will be like having something solid like… he is real!!
Ami, good luck telling them about your letter. And have fun on your trip
It’s been about a year now since I sent letters to Brad Bird. I must keep sending them when he’s busy. I did get a response from the email I sent to Pixar before that just about two months ago, but still nothing. Should I re-write him? I don’t want his mailbox getting clogged with my stuff
