How to get Pixarian autographs

I sent two letters and cards today
One to Andrew as I absolutely adore Finding Nemo! And one to Pete to kind of hedge my bets.
I couldn’t believe some of the responses you guys have received from him!

So fingers crossed for a reply

Death Ray, I am so jealous! That’s absolutely amazing. So so so so so amazing. Congratulations

I wanted to add . I’ve been collecting autograph and mainly voice actors for many years and use Startiger.com . It’s a pay site but it’s one of the best on the net. Many of the free ones are outdated . ST has an incredible system to report successes and failures . Also comparing in person to auto-penned ones.
Like all those John L. 's are auto-penned if you didn’t already notice. Many of the ones sent directly to the companies are just auto-penned or sec. I collect ones from classic toon too like Transformers , GI joe etc.

Here’s a few tips that might help new comers.

  1. type or handwritten, doesn’t matter really. Sloppy handwriting is the worse.
  2. 2-3 paragraphs only. Don’t tell them your live story or that you live for them or anything crazy.
  3. Send an item. I don’t like photos, so I send items. John Goodman use to sign and he signed my sully figure…sand with Art Clokey…signed my Gumby and pokey figures great. Photos are boring and just look bad overall. I still get people drawn to my Mork and Mindy Plush doll signed by Robin Williams because it’s different
  4. SASE a must…CORRECT SASE too.
  5. Don’t bother with A-listers unless you want pre-prints which I though out ASAP. Wait they will always sign later. Tom hanks is one of the few I need from TS, but really want him on something from Saving Private Ryan.
  6. Try to catch them at plays or other events they are doing because some of their work has been done for years.
  7. I do whole casts in one mailing and then buy ( from a good dealer) the ones who have left us.
  8. Writers , directors etc are typically easy to get because they really don’t have a fan base or many don’t know who they even are.
  9. if your buying of EBAY …well just don’t unless you know the dealer real well…many are facts and photos for sure.
  10. I cut down large sheets of arches watercolor paper to send out to people. I send two cards out and typically get both signed. Don’t send out 10 items…don;t be greedy.
11… Have fun with it. I’ve been collecting autographs for 20 years and have people from Charles Addams, richard Scarry and everyone inbetween because I enjoy them and their work .

If anyone wants and address that I can find on startiger, I will check to see if there’s any good ones.

Death Ray I think we can all say we’re jealous  What an amazing thing to have happen!

I wrote a letter asking for Lee Unkrich’s autograph! I’m going to mail it tomorrow.

Good luck Skunklover!

 (That’s supposed to be a scream) My day got four bajillion times better when I got this in the mail. It was awesome.

That’s very cool Forster! I always love seeing things from Pixar, even if they’re autographs!

btw, I’d delete that last photo, or at least block your personal information on it, you never know who’s can see it!

pixarfan9099, you are so lucky! Yeah, I’d take EJE’s advice and ‘redact’ your address like they do with confidential government documents.

I wish I could post mine, but my mom’s camera is out of comission. It looks just like Pixarfan’s, but it says “To Virginia”. 8D

I still haven’t gotten Lee Unkrich’s autograph. :frowning:

Don’t worry, it’ll come!

You should get it soon. A few of us got ours very recently, and on the same day. 8D

I wrote to Pete Docter a while back, and haven’t gotten a response.

This is to officially document that I sent a letter to Pete Docter today.
