I would like to ask for a autograph but i don’t know, the one time i sent pixar two of my drawings i had no idea they would send me a reply, but i want to ask but i don’t want them to think i’m trying to be all nice to them just to get autographs.
^ Don’t worry about that! I really think they’d love to get fanmail, even if it is asking for an autograph, it doesn’t matter. Really, if I put myself in their position and realize how long they tried to get success in Toy Story back in the day, it’d be my dream come true to give out an autograph. And you’re not just being nice if you’re asking for an autograph! Actually taking time to ask means you’re a true fan, and they won’t think that way!
Sorry I just rambled for a while
I never thought of it that way! your right!
Hahaha thanks XD It’s the most awesome-est thing in the world to get an autograph, go for it!
Hi all,
For those of you who recently received autographs, how long did it take? I know in the first few posts on the thread it said 4-8 weeks, but I’m wondering if that timeline has changed in the years since.
Thanks!
PixarKris15: When I sent my request to Elissa Knight last year, it took 5 months to get her autograph. And I live an hour away from Emeryville, so it’d take longer if you live in another state.
^ Wow, did it take that long? I guess I got lucky, I live across the country and it came in ehh, about a month I guess!
I’m with Evangeline. I have a TS3 autograph, as well as The Incredibles, and they each took about 2-3 weeks. But in the summer, with a release fast approaching, it might take longer.
I think I only have one thing autographed by a Pixarian. I think it was a book or something.
I have:
The Incredibles photo-Brad Bird
TS3 glossy photo-Lee Unkrich
Day and Night storybook-Teddy Newton
And I just sent a letter to Pete Docter the other day! I wrote John Lasseter, but he didn’t answer me. Oh well.
I’ve got JL and Lee, and I sent one to Pete about a month ago. I was also thinking of sending one to Dan Scanlon, just because he’s directing MU.
When did you write JL, pixarfan? I wrote him about a year ago, and never got a reply. That was a coupe of months before I wrote Lee Unkrich, and he answered me within like a month.
I have a question for those who were successful in getting an autograph back: Did you enclose a pre-stamped reply envelope within the envelope you sent? Or did you just send the letter and hoped that Pixar would provide the postage back? Do you think it matters?
Ding: I did not send a prestamped envelope. I just sent a letter, and they answered.
I wrote John Lasseter at the beginning of April and I still haven’t heard back. I’m a little discouraged to hear that @IncredigirlVirginia wrote a year ago and never heard back. For people who did hear back from him, when did you write and how long did it take to get a reply?
@Ding - I did include a self-addressed envelope, but since I haven’t gotten a reply, my input isn’t very useful.
Jeff: They send you a letter back. If you put a return address, it will come. I saw earlier in the thread, they wrote Pete, I think, and he sent back money for stamps so I’m not sure what’ll happen.
Virginia: I forget when I sent it. In fact, I had forgotten I had sent it until it came. Same with Lee. But it’s been over a year since I’ve gotten it, so I think it was November or December of 2009 when I sent and it came in February of 2010. It’ll probably take a little longer because of Cars 2. But then again, mine was not a personal letter. So, honestly, I have no freakin’ clue.
Ah. I always write directly to one person, because if I get an answer, I feel special. Yes, I’m a loser. I guess I’m just not getting an answer, then. Oh well.
Just sent out a letter to Dan Scanlon today, just because.
Hi I would like to write to Pixar and I was just wondering if I should type the letter or hand write it.
You should hand write it. It seems more sincere and heart felt, I think. Especially if you have scrambly hand writing.
