How To Raise A Racecar

No he wasn’t, but when he was falling he had the sensation of the time he fell off of the cliff. Thus, making him say that.

One thing I don’t understand is where you got Count Bubbula from.

I know it’s been a while :frowning: sorry. Annd you know me I am insane so where I got Count Bubbula from would sound odd XD

No, I understand. It wasn’t your fault. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m just glad I got to talk to you in time for Christmas.

As to what you just said about where you got Count Bubbula from, I really don’t want to know now. xD

That was a pretty good chapter! Can’t wait to see what happens next!

And yes, there is something about that Vermella. I’ll be waiting for the story to continue unfolding!

~Chapter 18~
Nightfall has arrived quickly. Sally was gathering her papers together by shuffling them around with her tires. She then reviewed all of the cars that were staying at her motel one more time before she left.
“I just can’t get cone number four to sell.” she thought. “Whatever…”
She drove to the exit of her motel’s lobby and shut off the lights. She pulled out of the parking lot and crossed the street to Doc’s clinic. When she drove through the doors, she wiped her tires on the mat on the floor.
“Well, hello there Mrs. McQueen!” said Nurse GTO from across the room. Sally looked over at her.
“Hey! How are you?” asked Sally.
“I’m doing well, but I don’t think Lightning is.”
Sally felt engine sink from those words. She tried to think of all of the possible things that could have happened to Lightning while she was gone, but nothing seemed to fit.
“Wh-Why do you say that?” asked Sally.
“Well, just a few minutes ago, he was out here asking me where Mater was with your daughter. She was out all day with him. Those two must be getting along so well! I’m telling you, I’ve never seen such a bright smile on your daughter’s face! When she saw that snow for the first time, oh it was so cute! I wish I had my camera!”
Sally was stuck on the words “…asking me where Mater was with your daughter.” Sally told Lightning to stay with her and take care of her. She told him to keep an eye on her and talk to her.
“With…Mater?” asked Sally.
“Yes, Jane was with Mater all day long! You know, I’m surprised you would trust her with him. You know, because he’s…well…he’s special! They were gone since dawn!”
Sally’s oil boiled inside of her with pure vexation.
“I’m sure everything’s okay though, Sal. Once they come back, Lightning will have nothing to worry about! It’s funny, you know? I thought you’d be more worried because you have more sense than Lightning, but you seem to be the calm one!”
Sally’s pupils started to shrink and she clenched her teeth together.
“Is Lightning still here?” asked Sally through her teeth.
“Yes.” said Nurse GTO.
Sally ignored Nurse GTO after that and sped to his room. Nurse GTO just stared at Sally’s taillights as she drove away.
“Well…goodnight…” said Nurse GTO, to herself.
Lightning was parked in front of a window, staring at the road Mater left with Jane on. His lips were curled in so he didn’t create that much steam on the window with his breath. Every now and then though, he needed to breathe. So when he did, he wiped the window with his tire so that it would clear up.
“Come on, Mater. Please?” Lightning whispered.
Sally was just about to slam herself inside when she came to a sudden stop. Lightning always got himself into trouble. Sally knew that the best part about knowing he did something wrong, was torturing him about it. However, there was nothing Lightning ever did that was on such a huge scale like this one. This wasn’t going to stop her for playing with his mind a bit.
Sally took in a deep breath. She fought with gravity as she lifted her lips into a fake smile. Her tires vibrated while fighting back the urge to hit any object around her. Sally pressed her right front tire on the switch that opened the garage door to Lightning’s room. The door made a humming noise and it rattled up. Lightning heard this, gasped, and jumped. He could feel his throat closing up and the saliva in his mouth starting to dry up. He brought his tires in close to his body and he sunk his body down. Lightning’s lips started to quiver. The deep blue color in his eyes started to fade a little while his pupils grew.
Sally drove inside of the room and the garage door closed behind her. She forced words out of her mouth.
“Hello there, sweet.” she said. “Heart.”
By the looks of Lightning, Sally was able to tell that he knew he did something very wrong. Lightning lifted himself off of his tires and swallowed.
“Hey.” he said.
Lightning looked at Sally’s eyes and saw how small her pupils were. His breathing started to become heavy.
“Where’s Jane? She usually speeds over to me when I come home from work. It’s a bit odd that she isn’t.” said Sally. “Is she feeling okay?”
“Ye-Yeah…” said Lightning. “Well…I don’t know…”
Sally’s smile started to faded. Lightning opened his mouth to explain.
“She was playing in the snow…” he said. “All she wanted to do was play in the snow…”
Sally drove over to Lightning and parked really close to him. Lighting was able to feel Sally’s breath as she talked to him.
“Lightning.” Sally said firmly.
Lightning began to back away a little because of how close Sally was. Sally grabbed under his chin with her tire and pulled him back into her face.
“Where’s my baby, Stickers?”
Lightning gulped, “I…she wanted to play in the-“
“Where’s my baby, Stickers?”
“With…Mater has her…”
“Where is MY BABY?”
“MATER HAS HER!”
“WHY DON’T YOU HAVE HER?”
Sally let go of Lightning’s chin and slapped him across the face with the tire she held his face with. Lightning’s eyes closed tightly and he cringed. He stayed like that for a few moments before opening his eyes up once again. When he did, he saw that Sally had left her tire tread marks right where she hit him.
“Did you just…hit me?” asked Lightning.
Sally didn’t answer his question, she just repeated her question.
“WHERE’S MY BABY?”
“I already answered you. Did you just hit me?”
“I WANT TO KNOW WHERE JANE IS. I WANT TO KNOW RIGHT NOW.”
“Did YOU just hit ME?”
“Where IS my BABY?”
Lightning drove into Sally’s face this time.
“Hit me again.” he dared.
Sally lifted her axle to hit him. When Lightning saw this, he smacked it away from him, hard. Sally’s eyes widened and she pulled her axle back in fear of Lightning. Lightning just glared Sally down.
“If you EVER hit me again-“
“What?”
“If you EVER…if you EVER hit me again-“
“What are you going to do about it?”
Lightning exhaled hard. Sally lifted the axle Lightning smacked away and slapped him right across the face, almost in the same spot. It left another mark.
Lightning didn’t say another word. He revved his engine loudly.
“What? Are you going to ram me?” asked Sally, in a bit of a mocking manner. “Come on, hotrod, I dare you.”
Lightning stared Sally down, but he didn’t have the heart to touch her.
“SOME FATHER YOU ARE!” Sally exclaimed. Lightning flinched at her words. He started to see two of Sally. After that, he started to see two of everything. The whole room felt like some screwed up amusement park ride. Lightning felt sick to his gas tank.
“I’m leaving you, Lightning.”
Lightning struggled to move forward to get to Sally.
“No, Sally, please.”
“No, I…I can’t do this with you.”
The floor wobbled like ocean waves under Lightning and he was the boat. He swam over the tiles and grabbed one of Sally’s tires. He held it with one of his.
“Sally, I love you. Just don’t leave me.”
Sally shook her hood.
“No.”
“Sally, don’t do this. If…if you pull your tire away from mine, then that means you’re really leaving me.”
Sally looked over at her tire. Lighting looked over at his tire. For that one moment, their tires touching each other were the only thing Lightning could see clearly. Lightning’s world was holding his tire. Sally stared at their tires, deeply. All of their memories would mean nothing. They would just be lost in the ocean of tiles that Lightning was floating on. Those sleepless nights Sally had, when Lightning was away for his races, they’d be wasted hours. Those tears she shed when he almost left, they’d be wasted. Sally loosened her grip on his tire. Lightning spread his lips apart in a bit of shock. He looked away from the tires and into her eyes. He gave her a very sorrowful look. Sally noticed him staring in the corning of her windshield. She looked back at him with a blank expression on her face. They stared at each other for a few minutes. Lightning drove forward a bit and got his lips close to Sally’s.
“Can I…?” asked Lightning. Sally didn’t say a word. Lightning just went on with it. He leaned in to kiss Sally. Right before his lips touched hers, Sally let go of his tire and threw herself in reverse. Lightning didn’t move. He didn’t cry. He didn’t even make a sound. He just idled there in that one spot and stared at Sally.
“I’m sorry, but…but you promised you would be a good father…and you…weren’t.”
Lightning didn’t blink. He just kept staring at her.
“Just try again, Lighting. Go over to her and tell her you love her again.” thought Lightning.
Lightning nodded at his thoughts. The room was back to normal. Lightning drove over to the garage entrance to get inside of his room. He blocked it off from Sally.
“Sally, I love you, and I won’t let you leave.”
Sally drove over to the garage door, even though Lightning was there, and said, “Sorry, but that isn’t your choice.”
“I don’t want you to leave me, Sally.”
“Well, I want to know that my daughter is safe. I want to know that my daughter is looking for us. I want to know that my daughter hasn’t been eaten by a combine. I want to know that Mater didn’t go ice fishing and accidentally left her on the hook to be used as…as…fish bait! I want to know that my daughter is still out there. I want to know that my daughter is still alive. But, we can’t always have what we want, can we, Stickers?”
“You kept saying ‘my daughter’. She’s my daughter too, you know.”
“You sure don’t act like she’s your daughter. A good father wouldn’t have just let her go off with some…stupid…irresponsible tow truck!”
“HEY! I’M A GOOD FATHER AND HE’S MY BEST FRIEND.”
Sally backed away.
“I’M NOT GOING TO LET YOU LEAVE ME. YOU’RE MINE. I LOVE YOU. YOU’RE MINE, SALLY.”
Sally’s eyes started to tear up.
“You know, another thing, for someone so calm, Mater takes a lot of ridicule. You know why he’s able to take it? He’s able to take it because he doesn’t know any better. He doesn’t know any better because he grew up blind to the outside world. His mother didn’t let him go outside like normal mothers do. Why do you think he never wears his hood in public? It’s because he never had to wear it in private. He was never taught manners, because he never had to use them. He used to bother me, but after I took a second to think about his situation, I learned that it isn’t even his fault that he acts that way. You’re not his best friend. I’m his best friend. I know abundance more about him than you ever will. So don’t come to me telling me that he is an idiot. If you don’t know anything about him, then you should shut your mouth.
“Mater always sticks up for me; always. When someone says something about me, he’s the first one there to defend me. I never once defended him, but you know what, I think it’s about time someone does. It isn’t fair to him. How would you like it if you were him, huh? If everywhere you went people stared at you for being different, but you didn’t even know you were different? If everywhere you went, other cars laughed in your face, and you wouldn’t even know why? If you were always called ‘annoying’ and you didn’t even know why?
“Mater, he’s like a dog. He listens to you. He obeys you. He will always trust you, no matter what. If you ask me, there should be more people in the world like him. He deserves it. He deserves to be loved for once; for once. I think that, for once, other cars should give him a chance. I think that you should give him a chance, Sally. The things I remember him telling me, they made me sick. You know why he told me those things? I’ll tell you why, because he’s my best friend, and he would tell you too if you asked because that’s the type of car he is. He never grew up being told that there are bad people in the world. He grew up being told that if he ever had a problem, there will always be someone there to talk to.
“Do you even know what he does at night? No, you don’t. I drove home from the store that day I bought baby oil formula for Jane, when I passed by where he lives, I heard him crying. Now, I don’t know why he was crying, but I’m sure that I can make an accurate guess. He was crying because he can’t possibly believe that people like you, no, people like everyone who makes fun of him actually exist in the world. It’s like a constant splash of reality to him - every single time. We all learned that at an early age. We were taught that. We were able to leave our homes to learn that from this cold world. Mater, he wasn’t able to do that. He may be a little slow, yes I said a little, but he has feelings. Think about that before you ever say anything about my best friend. Anyone who messes with him messes with me.”
Sally looked down at her hood. She frowned.
“Lightning, I…” she started.
“I’m not done talking. At least give me the respect to let me finish my words after you insult me and my best friend.”
Sally shut her mouth instantly.
“As for me being a bad father…oh boy…let me tell you something, Sally, I’m a very condemnable father. Racing is my life, Sally. Did you hear that? I said ‘My life.’ Do you know how hard it was to actually quit racing for a season? I did that for her, Sally. I quit racing just to be with Jane. I love Jane with all of my heart. I love her with every single bolt and screw in my body. Every single thing that I’m put together with has love for Jane in it. Do I make mistakes? Yes, I do. I’m only an automobile. I’m not perfect at all. Those manuals that come with a new car don’t tell you how to raise it. It only tells you the basic rules to taking care of it. I think I’m doing pretty well as a father for the first time. For the first time ever in my life, I’m a father. For the first time ever, in your life, you’re a mother. How in this world can you call me a bad father when you don’t even have something to compare it to?
“The only cars in this town who have something to compare bad parents to is me and Mater. We’re the only ones, Sally. I don’t know Mater’s story all the way, but I know a lot of it. He trusts me not to tell anyone, so I won’t. As for me, when I was a kid, my father was never home. What was he doing? He was racing. By the time he actually got time to spend with me, he was killed. Racing is an addiction, but you wouldn’t know that because you were built a Porsche. It’s in my nature to race, Sally. It’s not in my nature to be a father, which is more of a reason why it’s amazing that I’m doing so well at this job.
“Cars, we’re not always built into the job we want to have for the rest of our lives, but we need to suck it up. We need to suck it up, because that’s our reason for being on this Earth. Mater, he’s there for other cars that need him. Me, I’m here to race. Mack, he’s used for transporting. Planes, they’re used for transporting. Trains, how would you like it if you had to live on that one lonely track for the rest of your life? They’re not allowed to get off of that track. Eventually, it would drive cars like me and you insane. They’re used to it though, so they don’t go crazy.
“But, I’m sure it’s great to be an average car like you, Sally. You can do whatever you want to do. If you want to be an astronaut, you can. If you want to be a doctor, you can. If you want to be a waitress, you can. If you wanted to have a baby, you were able to. You were able to without having something in your nature be an obstacle for you. If you want to be a lawyer, which you are, you were able to do that. If I studied law, everyone would laugh. If they saw me in a classroom learning law, I’d be looked at as the biggest fool.
“My father, he let his nature get the best of him. That’s why he wasn’t in my life like I’m in Jane’s life. I’m fighting my nature pretty hard. I’m fighting my nature pretty hard, Sally. The last thing I need is for you to tell me that I’m a bad father. Because, I know, for a fact, that I’m a great father. Now, I’m not letting you leave me. I grew up with only one parent; I grew up with just my mother. I know how horrible that feels. I’m not letting Jane grow up without her father. We’re staying together. Don’t you remember, Sally? To infinity and beyond. That’s more than forever.”
Lightning was breathing hard. Sally couldn’t believe all of the things she heard. Tears slowly rolled down her hood from her windshield. Lightning couldn’t stand to see Sally have tears in her eyes. He drove up to her, slowly. He pressed his lips together and kissed her.
In a low, chocked up voice he asked, “To infinity and beyond?
Sally sniffled and nodded, “To infinity and beyond.
Lightning grabbed Sally’s tire and held it tight.
“Let’s find our baby, Sally.”

God that was sooo touching!!I was about to cry myself…Beautiful chapter… By the way Is that part about Mater inspired by what I and others have been saying about him? :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you.

No, that whole thing about Mater is just setting up for something that’s going to happen later on.

Another Uh-oh chapter? :open_mouth:

I don’t know.

Gotcha. Sits and waits

~Chapter 19~
“Oh, please. Come on, Leo, it isn’t that hard.” said Vermella. She had her truck open and was trying to get Jane to climb in. Jane was up on her back tires while leaning her front tires on Vermella’s rear. Jane groaned as she tried to pull her weight up on her little axles to get in.
“Are you kidding me? Do you not know how to climb? Or are you the stupidest little car I’ve ever seen?” Vermella teased.
“I’m trying!” said Jane. “I can’t do it! Can’t you just lean up a little so that you’re tilted? I can climb easier that way, I think.”
“You won’t be learning anything that way. If this is all you know, then whoever your parents were, they were terrible.”
Jane stopped for a moment.
“…were?” Jane asked.
“Oh please, Leo, you’re making it sound like I killed them or something. I’m sure they’re still alive. They’re still out there.”
Jane smiled.
“Oh! Okay! So, when do I get to see my mom and dad again?”
“Oh, you know, soon, Leo.”
Jane tried to lift herself up. She finally got to lift her back tires off the ground. She was holding on to the truck with her front tires. She kicked around her back tires a bit to, hopefully, push her up some more.
“Come on, Leo! You almost have it!”
Jane groaned some more and pulled. She was able to get herself up enough to lean forward and let the weight of her front half pull her down and into the trunk.
“Good girl! See? Now, if I leaned a bit for you, would you have learned how to climb in?”
“No…no I guess not!”
“Alright now, Leo, let’s go.”
Vermella closed her truck. Jane started to breathe hard. In such a small area, Jane was running out of air.
“Get me out!” Jane yelped. Vermella’s body shook back and forth on her shocks because of Jane’s struggling.
Leo, listen to me. Are you listening?” asked Vermella.
“Uh…yeah!” said Jane.
“Can you hear me well?”
“Yeah, sort of!”
“Okay listen, Leo, do you remember that mustang logo that was on my trunk?”
“Yeah!”
“I need you to push it out.”
“What?”
“I said PUSH it out.”
“Okay!”
Jane felt her tire around for the bump where Vermella’s mustang logo was.
“I can’t see anything!” yelled Jane. “I can’t breathe!”
“Listen, Leo, what did I tell you about not learning anything if I helped you?”
“Please open your trunk!”
“What did I tell you?”
“Open it!”
“Tell me what I told you. You have enough air to say those words. That mean you have enough air to tell me what I just said to you.”
“I can’t breathe! Please!”
“If you’re talking, you can breathe. It’s impossible to talk without breathing.”
“Help!”
“What did I tell you?”
“He-! You told me that I won’t learn anything unless I do it!”
Vermella idled there for a few moments thinking about what Jane said.
“Close enough.” said Vermella.
“Help!” yelled Jane.
“Nope, I won’t help you.”
“Please! I can’t find it! It’s too dark in here!”
“Use your headlights.”
“I don’t know how!”
“Your parents must really be terrible. How do you not know how to use headlights? Okay, listen to me, Leo, here’s a fast way to find your headlights. If you do this every time, you’ll be turning them on in no time. Are you listening?”
Jane was breathing hard. Through her breaths she said, “Yes!”
“Okay, I want you to relax yourself.”
“I can’t!”
“Yes you can. You need to tense your shocks to climb. If you couldn’t climb into my trunk that easy, then your shocks were way too relaxed. If they were that relaxed before, they can relax again. Listen to me. Talking to me is only wasting your time.”
“Okay!”
“Are you listening?”
“Yeah!”
“Okay, close your eyes, and relax yourself.”
Jane closed her eyes and let out the remaining breath she had inside of her. She drooped on her tires.
“Okay, now this is going to be a bit hard, but it’ll get your headlights on. It’s going to take practice, but this is how I learned. I want you to feel around inside of you for the sw-“
Jane’s horn honked very loud. Vermella jumped.
“Will you WAIT for me to finish?” Vermella scolded. “Anyway, I want you to feel inside for the switch.”
Jane started to move around her insides which pressed buttons inside of her. She pressed a button that turn on lights, but they flashed on both sides of her and blinked. The button she pressed was for her hazard lights.
When the lights flashed on, Jane hurried her eyes to look around. Flash on, she saw the back of the mustang logo. Flash off, it was gone. Flash on, she saw it again. Flash off, she lost it again. Flash on, Jane reach her axle out. Flash off, she couldn’t see anything. Flash on, she pressed her tire against the back of the mustang logo. Flash off, she could see anything. Flash on, she pushed on the logo. Flash off, there was still some light. The logo dropped out of its outline and onto the floor outside of the trunk. Light from a streetlight outside was able to seep in. Jane pushed her face up against the hole and took a deep breath of fresh air in.
“Good job, Leo! How are you doing?”
“I’m…okay…”
“Good! I see you got your headlights working?”
“No, two blinking ones at the same time.”
“Those are called hazard lights.”
Jane nodded to herself in Vermella’s trunk.
“Where are we going?” asked Jane.
“Well, since it’s night time, we should probably find a place to stay for the night. So let’s be on our way.”
“Where are we going to go?”
“Hang on there, Leo
Vermella slammed on her gas pedal and sped away from the area. Jane flew back in her trunk. Snow kicked up from behind Vermella as she dashed through the snow. In front of her was a huge sheet of ice. Vermella watched as the thick ice sheet came closer and closer. When it touched her two front tires, she slammed on her breaks. She slid right across the ice sheet at the same speed with no problems at all. She continued on her way. Her headlights shined on a dull, brown, rusty tow truck that was in her way. She slammed on her breaks. Jane flew forward and bashed her face against a part in her trunk. Jane lifted her tire to hold the spot that got hit.
The tow truck turned and looked at Vermella. It was Mater. Mater stared until his eyes focused past her high beams. His jaw dropped at her beauty. That color, those lips, those eyes, she was perfect. Vermella noticed Mater starting at her in awe. She smiled. Mater watched in a trance as her lips curled like a perfect crescent moon. When she smiled, her bottom lip came out just enough to form a perfect little bump. Her upper lip sat perfectly on her bottom lip.
“Howdy.” Vermella sang. Mater gulped. Her voice was so angelic. It was as soft as a cloud, if a car was ever able to touch one.
“Ha-Howdy there.” Mater smiled. Vermella giggled.
“What’s your name?” Vermella said, seductively. Mater rubbed his left front tire around in the snow. He looked up at the night sky to avoid eye contact with her.
“Well, erm, my name’s Mater. Like Tamater, but without the ‘ta’!”
Vermella leaned on her side a bit and lifted an eyelid in confusion.
“That’s a very interestin’-“
“What’s yer name?” Mater asked suddenly.
“My name’s Vermella, spelled V-E-R-M-E-L-L-A. It’s Galician. You know that double L? That’s pronounced like a ‘y’ would be said. Think of my name like it’s got the month of May in there. Ver-May-Uh.”
“I guess that won’t be hard to remember! Nice to meet you, Vermelah.”
Vermella’s eyes squinted. She drove close to his face.
“You know, Tamater, I really don’t like when cars say my name wrong.” said Vermella, in a threatening tone.
“Well, maybe ya shouldn’t of spelled it for me. Now I’ll jus’ git confused.” Mater replied.
Vermella started at Mater with a blank expression on her face. After a few seconds, she rolled her eyes. She realized the type of car she was dealing with; a moron.
“So, Mater, is it? Yeah, do you know where we-erm-I mean I, can find a motel ‘round here?”
“Yeah, there’s one in Radiator Springs! Come on! It’s really close!”
Mater swung his tow hook out and hooked on Vermella’s bumper. Jane saw his tow hook from the little hole in Vermella’s trunk.
“Mater!” Jane exclaimed.
Mater’s eyes widened and he looked around.
“Jane!?” Mater called out.
Vermella started to have a frightened look on her face. She bit down on her bottom lip.
“Well, gee! Thanks for findin’ ‘er! I was lookin’ everywhere!” said Mater.
“Uh…well…erm…I’ll give her back to you, but you need to get me to that motel first!” said Vermella.
“Sure thing!”
Mater started to drive towards Radiator Springs. Vermella watched as everything was moving ahead of her as if she was driving in reverse. Mater pulled up in front of the Cozy Cone Motel. He looked at the lobby.
“Hm…” said Mater. “Mrs. Sally ain’t here.”
“What does that mean?” asked Vermella. “Let me see!”
Vermella struggled around for a bit and unhooked herself from Mater’s bumper. She drove around Mater and looked at the lobby. She gave the room a disgusted look.
“So…what?” asked Vermella. “I can’t stay here?”
“Well, ya can. I got a key that Mrs. Sally gave me if I ever needed to give a car a room in an emergency.” replied Mater.
Mater looked at the lights which told the cone’s numbers. The only light that was lit up was cone number four.
“There’s only one room left!” said Mater. “I’ll just git ya in that one.”
Vermella nodded and she followed Mater over to the garage door. When Mater opened the door, Vermella drove inside of the cone with caution. She looked around inside. Every little thing was…caution-cone-themed. She scoffed.
“Eh…” said Vermella, unsure. “This’ll have to do.”
Mater smiled sweetly, “Enjoy your stay! I’ll let Mrs. Sally know that you’re staying here in the morning.”
Mater shifted in reverse, but then stopped.
“Hey…wait a minute.” said Mater. “I almost forgot Jane! I need ta give ‘er back ta Mrs. Sally!”
Leo is the daughter of the owner of this place?”
“Wells, I dunno who Leo is, but Jane sure is!”
Vermella thought to herself for a few moments. She rolled her eyes.
YOU.” she said firmly. Suddenly, that sweet voice that hypnotized every car was gone. It was a raspy voice. The voice she used when she spoke to Jane or any other car that she does “business” with. Her voice sounded like she smoked cigarettes for years.
Vermella took her tire and grabbed under Mater’s front bumper. She pulled him inside of the cone with her. She stretched out her back left axle and pressed a button to shut the garage door.
“Listen here, Mater, tell me everything you know.” said Vermella.
“Well, that won’t take too long.” said Mater with a chuckle.
“I mean about LEO.”
“Who’s Leo?”
“LITTLE EXPENSIVE ONE.”
“Huh?”
“JANE.”
“Ya know, Ver-mel-ah, for someone who doesn’t like their name being said wrong, you sure mess up Jane’s name real good.”
“It’s VER-MAY-AH.”
“No, her name’s Jane. See? Told ya!”
Vermella cringed at Mater’s stupidity, “Mater, tell me everything you know about Leo.”
“It’s Jane.”
“Jane.”
“Well, I know she’s Mrs. Sally’s daughter, she’s tiny, she’s got two different colors in her eyes, she never had another color fade in so she’s white, she still smells like new car, she’s the daughter of Lighting McQueen, she-“
“What did you just say?”
“She.”
“Before that.”
“McQueen.”
“THE WHOLE SENTENCE.”
“She’s the daughter of Lightning McQueen, she.”
“That’s why she’s so…expensive…”
“Well, she didn’t really cost anything. I don’t know if you know, but when two cars want to have a baby, they don’t need to have money! They need to have-“
“ENOUGH.”
Vermella got close to Mater and said, “You tell anyone that I have her daughter, no one will ever have the chance to get her name wrong ever again.”
Mater started to tremble, “Uh…uh…okay, Ver-mel-ah.”
Vermella got even closer to him and said, “Another thing: You get my name wrong one more time, and no one will have the chance to screw up your name anymore either.”
