Well, Iām really pleased they are going to expand on the Dragonās world. Baruchelās giveaway of the sequel being āthe second act of a three actā hints it might become a trilogy. The way I imagine it, itāll be like the Pirates trilogy with the stakes getting higher and the scale getting larger with each installment, probably ending with a culmination of the āend of Vikings and dragons as we know itā or something, probably due to the Roman empire. And then itāll all boil down to an epic ālast standā sequenceā¦ ooh yeahā¦
As little_chef said, thereās really a lot of world-building in the books (There are other Viking tribes besides the āHairy Hooliganā tribe), so I recommend anyone who hasnāt read the source novels to check them out! I know Astrid is sort of a replacement for Camicazi, but I wonder whether theyāll actually introduce Camacazi as a separate character in the sequel to compete for the affections of Hiccup in a love triangle? After all, Astrid is not exactly a āBog Burglarā who can āsteal anythingā.
And yes, I really hope they bring in Alvin the Treacherous, heās a fantastic villainā¦ and one thatās very hard to kill! 
Iād like to read the books, but my school doesnāt have them, and my mom owes the public library $15. 
Dragons is apparently what HTTYD2 is called. FYI, thereās more DreamWorks posters on that site, including Madagascar 3.

I want to see the sequel. Not the TV show. Not because I think it will be bad, but because I donāt watch much TV.
Well, you could start watching TV by just watching that show.
Honestly, Iām not very interested in a show about HtTYD anyway. I love the movie obviously, but I dislike spin off TV series.

ummm i wouldnāt mind a HTTYD 2 but a tv series nah it doesnāt work for me, even though the series might come out good, Iād still perfer they didnāt do that.

Same here! It could turn out really well, I mean I loved Avatar:TLA and that was a TV show! And plus I loved HtTYD, so it seems like it could come out nicely. I hope itās not just single episodes, but that they link together kinda.
I donāt think I wanna see a series. i would want a sequel and maybe a 3rd film if they could do it.
At this point, Iām more interested in the sequel then the TV show.

Theyāre already making one. 
Iād prefer a sequel than a TV show but I will still watch both. Unlike Kung Fu Panda and Cars where I thought they really didnāt need to make a sequel, I think that a Dragons 2 would be a nice fit. As for the TV show, I would want it to both incorporate comedy and action into one but not like the dry humor in The Penguins of Madagascar. Iād also rather Cartoon Network do the show than Nickolodeon because I think CN does a better job at the action and adventure department (Teen Titans, Star Wars The Clone Wars, Batman).
I adore HTTYD, and I think if they take more influence from the books for the sequel(s), then it could be awesome. Then again, sequels are generally annoyingā¦
I hope its good, Iāll give the show a chance when it airs. Its suppose to be dark from what I heard. And hopefully the animation is better than what they used on Legend of the Boneknapper.
I wonder what year the sequel will come out.
