How was Space Chimps?

I’m just going to wait for the movie to premiere in Sky movies. I’m not even pay money to watch this crap looking film. Also has anyone heard of a film called “Fly me to the moon”? It’s another sci-fi related film to hit the screens. By the looks of it , I would say that this film would be Space Chimps main rival.

I’ve only heard the song “Fly me to the Moon.” Unless you’re referring to that other sci-fi movie with the 3-D bees or something like that.

you’ve heard the song “fly me to the moon”

I Love the song

That is Micheal W. Smith’s Best Song.

I’ll have to disagree with the above comments about the quality of DW’s animations. I think their actual animations are fine and dandy. Better than this space chimp crap. Case in point the visual quality of the shrek movies and especially KDP.

It’s DW’s story department that lets movie goers down (once again, with the exception of the recent KFP).

Thats what I meant.

And OH YES, Fly Me To The Moon. How is it that this summer seems to be the “space kids flik” summer? Theres WALL-E, Space Chimps, Star Wars:The Clone Wars, and FMTTM. Funny thing is, only one of those movies appear to be any good. And of course it’s a huge mystery which one that is :unamused:

It was alright, better than BHC in my opinion… though that’s not saying much. Most fun came from laughing at how lame it was in parts though. Nothing above mediocre… in fact above mediocre would be good for this film… but what would you expect? a Pixar film?

BTW I saw it for free (we always get free tickets for crap films for some reason), not downloaded, and just to see how bad it was.

I saw it. The whole thing isn’t really good.
The animation was so-so (good effort), but the story and some crappy jokes are below average.

Space Chimps is made by Vanguard! OKAY! Anyways I kinda’ liked it. But the animation is pretty bad and the voice of Greg Daniels is HORRIBLE! But I do like it. Space Chimps is the only Vanguard movie that I actually enjoyed.

I watched it and after half an hour I went back to Blockbuster and requested a refund. The animation was bad but the story was even worst. I guess it’s one of those movies that some people like but most people don’t.

A rare “liked it” vote here, and No, it does not deserve an Epic Failure Award. Arguably the best theatrical release from Vanguard Animation, although that’s rather a misnomer because Starz actually provided the animation. The seams show a bit too much to call Space Chimps a really good film, but it has more entertaining stretches than not. The music from Blue Man Group is appropriate to the material and enjoyable when it is heard, which is not often enough. Cheryl Hines and Kristin Chenoweth did well, the greatly overexposed Patrick Warburton was surprisingly well employed, and it sounds like Jeff Daniels’ voice underwent electronic treatment that somehow works in a kooky way that fits with the music. Andy Samberg and the Ham character are too-often annoying to generate much sympathy, but there is a bit of welcome character growth toward the end. There is an odd sense of emptiness about all the sets and sounds, which may or may not be appropriate to the space theme.

All told, not highly recommended but likeable enough to warrant a viewing, especially if accomplished via a library lend or a low rental fee.
