I now regret passing up a Wall-E bootleg for free. It’s gonna be a long while before I ever get my hands on a 3 disc. I’m a moron.
Actine- I’ve bought my copy of the DVD, but I ended up buying the Blu-Ray and spending pretty much £20.
Have you been checking Amazon.co.uk, or .com? I’m not sure if it’ll be on the international one, but it’s on the UK version of the sight, here- Amazon WALL-E DVD.
As far as I’m aware (and don’t quote me on this- I rarely order anything from Amazon ) the New & Used thing is okay, though it’s probably just a tad safer to buy it direct from Amazon as opposed to independent dealers.
According to the website, I think they can deliver to Ukraine, but to buy it in the first place you’d have to pay via some sort of credit or visa card through the internet. I don’t think you can pay at the post office or anything like that, unfortunately. If you’re worried about paying for stuff over the internet, usually it’s very simple and safe, and it’s not as though anyone’s going to get ahold of your credit card details or anything.
I hope this helps, though in terms of ordering it to my house and then delivering it to yours, I’m not sure if that’s going to work, mainly because there’s never anyone in the house during the morning, so we always miss package deliveries (hence why I bought my DVD from a shop. ) But if you’re going to pay through the internet anyway, you might as well just buy direct from Amazon, as it’s sort of easier on the whole.
Browsing Amazon… On the first glance they do not seem to deliver goods into Ukraine… I couldn’t find Ukraine when I was trying to fill in my address. But I heard some of my mates from Ukraine have succesfully ordered something from Amazon. Maybe, the problem occured because I was browsing Amazon from my PDA on its PDA version? Now I switched to the full version and trying to find myself there =)
lizardgirl, my idea was for you to buy the DVD disc at a retail shop, not via the Internet, and then to send it to me… I’m kinda aware of that ‘internet business’, maybe because I have never used it yet
You are in region 2, that’s nothing to worry about.
these other sellers are trustable, yes.
I’m terribly sorry, I’d love to but my parents won’t let me

is that any good?
Too upset well, there it is - my problem. To order from Amazon one needs a credit card, and I do not have one. I asked my dad to help me with it (to tell me his account details), I told him that it will cost approximately 150UAH… he asked for what. I told that it was the Wall-e 2disc pack… and there it is - he started managing to explain me that 'it is really unnecessary, and the same movie can be downloaded from the Internet for free, and I would soon regret that I would have wasted my money on it, and that all the checking operations in Ukraine are freezed due to the instability of the currency value, and that ‘they’ would use his account and steal his money…
darn…
I wish I had my own money - not given but the money I managed to earn on myself. I know! I will work! =) there are lots of things I can do over the Internet…
…Does anyone need a website (design, layount, scripting, unique design) or any creative idea about designs, game design (sprites, buttons), short or long audioclips (soundracks for movies and commercials), any artwork??
My parents aren’t one hundred percent on me doing this, Actine, but say if I were to buy WALL-E and send it to you, do you have an idea as to how much it would cost to send, and also how you would pay back the money? I just hate to see a Pixar fan not be able to get one of their favourite movies on DVD, so I’ll try and help out if I can.
I know that the mail from Ukraine to New Jersey, USA costs about 4 pounds. I don’t think that the mail from the UK to Ukraine will be more expensive. I could send you the money via Western Union - I’m indifferent, it’s up to you.
But if your parents don’t permit you to do this, you’d better not. I have found the way out. I’ll try to pick up some work on the Internet - I can do different sorts of things. If to mind that one website costs more than 300$, I can bring into making some small project for as much as 40-50$. If I earn my own money, I can use them just in the way I want, and no one has to stop me.
PS. I have got used to my idea of getting my own money so much, that I think this will be better. Anyway thanks, lizardgirl!
PPS. Happy Thanksgiving!
I’m pleased you’ve found a solution, Actine. Bet you can’t wait to get your hands on WALL-E now!
You’re right, lizardgirl. By the way, Wall-e has been released in our country, but I fear it is only one-disced. It contains some extra features like Presto and Burn-e, and some production materials (as far as I was told by the shopkeeper), and it costs as much as 52 UAH (4,75 pounds). Also it has five language audiostreams - English, Ukrainian and Russian are for 5.1 ch, Lithuanian and Estonian are 2.1 ch. I do not know what to do - I think I’d better wait for a fabric-sealed original disc.
By the way, is the original disc double-layered? And what extra features (promo banners, teasers, commercial blocks and other stuff) are included within the two-disc pack?
Oh, that was a bad idea cuz I had got some problems with my eyes and I couldn’t use a computer too much. So I decided to get a one-cd disc.
I got it! It is double-layered, it has five languages, as I told before. The translation wasn’t necessary, but I’ve checked it - it is made accurately. The quality is really high and I like it! Then, it has Presto and Burn-e on it (both are hilaaaarious!!!), some materials about sound creation, about the studio (click on BnL logo), two deleted scenes, Stanton’s commentary and some weird image test (W.A.L.-E.)…
Could anyone tell me what is on the 2nd disc? Have I missed too much?
BnL shorts, extra deleted scenes, behind the scenes stuff.
and good for you! are you gonna keep earning money online?
In fact, I haven’t started yet, because of my weak eyes, which have to be cured now. There are one-disc Wall-e packages in our stores.
He-he, I was scrolling through the Russian version of it - the localizers have translated pictures even! For example, ‘Foreign containment’ alert, then ‘Soil. Dirt. Earth’ come in Russian equivalent. How do they do it? Kind of Videoshop?
Unfortunately, translated versions are not so brilliant as the original. I am glad that the English audiostream is also included. Nope, Ukrainian and Russian dub companies have made a great job to capture and sync the voices - you even don’t see the difference, when an original parts switch to the translated overlays.
The only thing I disliked is how Eve’ name is translated. In our and Russian languages, Eve has an equivalent ‘Eva’ (pronounced ['jeva]). ‘Eve’ sounds more smooth
