i did it, I got a 400MHz G4 running OS 10.4 with 640MB ram!
The shop guys sodl it to me with a monitor for £150!

I’m an artist, mostly. I go for Pixen if I’m spriting. It’s not the best, but it’s free and easy to use!

I’ve had mine since last July … or was it the July before that? I forget. I only know it 'cause my iCalendar is stuck like that unless I open it.
Once you go Mac you never go back. 
My family shares a PC in the next room. I get easily irritated whenever I have to use it, and I thought I’d never get used to this Mac, but I did. 
I haven’t gotten around to getting big art programs for here, but when I do I’ll let you know. I do know of a free 3D animation program called Blender, which is freakin’ awesome but takes up a lot of space, and if you don’t have enough your computer will just get wiped out. I’m planning on getting an external hard drive when I get back from the DCP.
If you like writing though, I recommend the Writer’s DreamKit. I got it right out of the Apple store, and it’s worth every penny IMO. I’m able to sort my chapters very easily through it.

the previous owner upgraded the RAM, but it’s doing pretty well to say it’s a 400MHz processor. Youtube videos aren’t smooth, but still watchable. I’ll take some piccys.
i hate to say it, but ATM I’m still trying to work it like I would a PC, because I don’t have a mac keyboard. I fugured out the apple key is the winkey, but where is that key that’s like two lines, one on an angle.
but for non-gaming and video-editiong (I doubt this would be able to manage it) tasks I will be using my mac! no “found new hardware” stuff, just plaug in and go!

Well, if you get it upgraded, it comes with iMovie, and that’s a decent enough editing program. Basic, but it gets the job done.

we just installed windows into it as an optional server.
The mac is sweet! it has much better speeds although i can say its not a workhorse…it is for more fun play style of people. Ones who only use it for pics, video, forums

Well I’ll try iMovie. The most annoying thing so far is using the winkey instead of Ctrl OR Alt. Ikeep trying to Alt+Tab to find nothing happening!
I have grown up using Macs, so I find PC’s frustrating. In case you are wondering, the key with the little apple on it is command, the option key is alt, and the control key is just control, I guess. As a matter of fact, the new Mac keyboard that I have no longer has the apple on it. Since there are more people switching over, it now reads command instead. I kind of liked the little apple though…
