I recently
added a new topic to the Studio and People section (Brad Bird to direct live-action film!), and it never showed
up on screen. And as a result, my post count says 211 when it really is 215 (counting this post) . Is there any
way to fix this?

I looked at your post count on your last post and on your
main profile page, but everything seems fine. It says 216…according to my eyes.
Perhaps your computer
was (or is) a little slow at the time, so your post count didn’t register? Either that, or it was/is just a
simple error. I’m sure the moderators can help you out if the problem persists.

Well, when I view my profile, it says 211. On other
topics where I’ve left a comment, it says 213 and 209, so it’s all over the place. And my topic never showed up
in the section, so that really confuses me.
I have no idea what is wrong,
Bill. Your thread is up, and we’ve been posting in it. Soooo…I
dunno.

It seems
that when I’m not logged in and when I go to it, the thread is there, but when I’m logged in… I don’'t
have to repeat myself.
Also, on the Guess Who? thread, I cannot see the fifth page when I go directly to
it. I have to be logged out to see it…
Try clearing your cache and cookies and logging in again - chances are your profile page is old temp data, it
shows the right number for me
Sometimes when I’m on it shows me an outdated page (like
my post count is what is was yesterday, or my last post is what I posted yesterday instead of right now) but if i
reload the page, it corrects itself. I’m not sure if that’s the problem you’re having, but it made me think of
it.

This may
seem stupid, but how do you reload the page?
Just press the refresh button to reload the page. You
might be best clearing your cache like Vim suggested though.
Do you know what browser you’re using? If
you’re on Internet Explorer 6, go into ‘Tools’ at the top and choose ‘Internet Options’ from the dropdown
menu. A pop-up box will appear and under ‘General’ you will see a section called ‘Temporary Internet Files’.
Press the delete button and it will clear the downloaded files that it’s re-using to save on download
time.
Internet Explorer 7 is quite similar: Go into ‘Tools’ then choose ‘Internet Options’ from the
dropdown menu. A pop-up box will appear but this time under ‘General’ the title is 'Deleting Browser
History’. (Careful not to hit on the delete all button, though, or it will clear your saved logins and
passwords, too!!)
Try Tools>Internet
Options>General>Setting (In the Temporary Internet Files box). It’ll say something like "Check for
Newer Versions of Stored Pages:". If “never” is checked, I believe it’s the problem. Check
“Every Visit to the Page”. This makes the most sense to me because you were seeing different number of
posts on different pages.
