I need some consolation

First, my hi-fi breaks, right before a 2 hour drive. Then I come back to my car to find the window smashed out, but rather than take the broken stereo, they take my GPS and leave me with no window for the subfreezing drive home. My poor Hyundai.

Wow that sucks. I try not to leave any electronics in window view to prevent thefts.

but if it makes you feel any better I had my car broken into once in the middle of a January Blizzard, they took my CDs & Cell phone and when I got back to my car I had a mini snowboarding half pipe in my car from all the snow that had blown in.

nubetre: oh dude, that must have been a rather sucky experience! You must have felt really numb while driving home.

Oh, how terrible! Will your insurance cover any of that? That would have been so scary for me, to know that someone had broken into my car.

update:

I called my insurance, and I found out the glass is covered, so that saves me $250, which is good.

I found out Amazon will have a better sat-nav than the one that got nicked on sale for $150 on January 10, so it’s not too bad.

I bought a new head unit (Sony Xplod with a USB port in the face, sweet!) on ebay and I found out that I had the money to cover it in my paypal account from a sale I made a year ago (totally forgot about it), so it’s almost like getting that for free.

And finally, after calling around a bunch of different Disney stores, I found the 14" Remy, and I got Emile for good measure, and I’m getting them both for less than half of the extortionate prices I found on ebay.

I suppose the universe tends to balance itself out.

Thanks for the support everyone

Oh, I’m pleased everything’s getting sorted out, nubetre. It’s horrible when something like this happens, but at least you’ve got insurance to cover some of the damage.

nubetre: Oh that is good to hear. You are totally welcome!

Yikes. I know always to hide electronics. Never in the glove compartment of course, because that’s the first place they’d look. The only place I ever had problems in was Brooklyn. Car alarms don’t work because I don’t know about where everyone else lives, but they’re commonly heard and ignored around here. :stuck_out_tongue:

see … it’s karma ! lol … glad everything got better !

I’m glad you’re all right, nubetre! (I would’ve taken the GPS, too)

Are you you speaking from experince?

LOL absolutely not

Just had to ask
