as you all know, im a new user. i was wondering how you get those icon on the side bars, and also in your signuture. i made on signuture icon with paint, but it wont let me put it in.
First, go to your profile. Scroll down a bit, and you should see a place where you can upload your avatar (The icon on the sidebar). For the signature, you can get a Photobucket account and then, after uploading your picture, copy and paste the IMG code from there to the ‘signature’ of your profile.
Then go to Pixar Planet Forums, and click “Profile”, and scroll down to the bottom where you should see an avatar control, and upload it from your computer.
To make a signature, make it.
Upload your signature to a web hosting service like Picasa (picasaweb.google.com). I’ll use Picasa as an example, since that’s what I use.
When your picture is uploaded to Picasa Web Albums, go to the image’s page and get the “Large” link to the image, and paste into…
your Pixar Planet profile again, and go to Signature, and paste the code here. Then remove all code except for the stuff inside the quotes after “img src”. Then place
Rac_Rules - First and foremost, welcome to Pixar Planet! I hope that you enjoy your stay here.
Secondly, in order to upload an image into your signature box, simply follow these simple directions:
1. Go to www.photobucket.com. This website is, in essence, a free, universal community where you may upload pictures. If you have not already registered, I would highly suggest doing so; it will make hosting/sharing images for future use much easier.
2. Once registered/signed in on Photobucket, locate the “Upload Images & Video” box at the top of the screen and click “Choose files”. From here, you may select any image (or multiple images) to upload.
3. After your image has uploaded, you will probably be transported to a separate page for that image whereas you may change its title, add a description, etc. You may skip past this feature if you wish.
4. When you have returned to the main page, you will notice that your image will have appeared on that page, succeeded by four links/codes beneath that. In order, these codes include “Email & IM”, “Direct Link”, “HTML Code”, and “IMG Code”. Copy the IMG code. (Refer to the instructions below for copying any link with a Mac or a PC computer.)
MacIntosh: Double click on link, go to the “Finder” bar at the top of your Mac’s screen, select “Edit” and then “Copy”.
PC: Double click on the link with your left mouse button, then click on that now highlighted link with the right mouse button, and select “Copy”.
5. Now that you have copied the IMG code for your image of choice, go to Pixar Planet, refer to your “Profile” page, go down to and select your “Signature” box, and paste that code into the box. Once finished, go down to the bottom of your “Profile” page and click the “Submit” button.
Voila’! Your newfound image should now be working properly!
Please take into consideration that the image you upload into your signature box must be 500x175 pixels or less. For more information on this matter, please refer to the thread entitled “The sig sitch” that was created by PixarVixen in the “Feedback” section of these forums. To locate this thread, simply refer to the link below…
As for the icons displayed on the side bar(s), you can only get those by way of joining various clubs – or, more formally, Usergroups – here on Pixar Planet. You can request membership in most Usergroups by clicking on the “Usergroups” option at the top of the main Pixar Planet forum boards page, choosing which group you wish to join, and request permission to be included in the “club”.
Avatars can be obtained by going to your “Profile” page, scrolling down to the “Avatar” section, and uploading a miniscule image from your “Pictures” folder (or a similar location on your computer).
I hope that this information was of some assistance to you, Rac_Rules!
