So, did anyone have a little mini-shock when [spoil]Bonnie first had Woody and pulled his string and he said that new phrase “I’d love to join your posse boys, but first I’m gonna sing a little song”, because you realized the collection version suddenly did not include all his phrases?? lol…not that big a deal, I was just wondering.[/spoiler][/spoil]
While on the whole phrase topic, was anyone impressed by how amazing Buzz sounded when [spoil]Bonnie[/spoil] made him say “To Infinity, and Beyond!” I mean, it sounded EXACTLY like the voice box of the '95 Buzz, all raspy and sounds so much like it’s a little speaker inside a toy. Maybe not that cool…but I love that kinda stuff…haha
I was happy to hear it in the film just cause I knew it was deleted from the original Toy Story. Here’s the scene where we would have heard it: [url]"Torture" Toy Story Deleted Scene - YouTube
Oh, Buzz’s voice simulator definately brought memories. I guess they gave up on the high quality sound system from the first two movies. Woody’s ‘wagon train’ quote never got reused, though.
But yeah, it was a pleasant surprise to find out that Woody’s unused quote finally found a home.
I was already in so many tears from that point, that was another crown jewel out of the millions of crown jewels from that ending. Too many memories to comprehend in that scene from Buzz’s “To Infinity and Beyond!”
I was a bit suprised at Woody’s new phrase, but I didn’t dwell on it.
the funny thing is, Ive seen the deleted scene so much, it didnt even occure to me while while watching that it never made it into the actual film. sometimes my mind remembers that deleted scene as still being part of the finished version.
I liked how they went back to the deleted scene and used that phrase again. I was thinking earlier how I wish the wagon train line was used again. And I did notice Buzz’s voice, it did sound exactly like the original toy. I thought that was a really cool touch.
Well, what can I say? We were a lot younger back then, and Toy Story has ages with us.
Though, it would be extremely awesome if those scenes were finished and put in, it would explain more, and help develop the characters more (not like they’d need any developing, though). I would like to see how the Rain scene would further fit in the movie, since the “I wanna ride the pony” line would already be used.
You know, I’m pretty sure Pixar’s never went back and finished an earlier project. Though, with the exception of the pan across Sid’s room, the Rain scene is pretty much done. Before Toy Story gets too dated, they should release some kind of super-deluxe version with the scenes.
Definetly! Although, it costs money to animate those scenes and fill in the sound and all…maybe they could use what they made from the 3d re-release lol. But I’d love to see those things…I’m curious as to what’s missing from TS3
On the fact that it took 2 years (!!!) to finalize the script, I’d say a lot. Not to mention, the almost 10 year gap after Toy Story 2 also hints at a bunch of other early ideas. Plus, with such a defining movie in the Toy Story series, one could also hope for an alternate ending/alternate scene ([spoil]I’m thinking Lotso[/spoil])?
About finishing the scenes, it’s a relief that all the voices were recorded, but there still are a few stock sound effects that haven’t been upgraded, but I doubt that would be a hassle. The music is also recycled in the Sid scene, but the transition in the final movie hints that this was the way it was originally supposed to be (you can still hear the power drill in the final film). The Rain scene had no music, nor was it supposed to.
As much as I’d like to see the other deleted scenes see completion (Black Friday, Woody’s Nightmare, Buzz Lightyear TV Show, etc…), it’s just impractical, since they couldn’t fit into the film without making further changes.
