If You Could Change One Thing...

I don’t get it…

You know, those kind of cartoonish moves that are most likely to be found in a Looney Toons program than in a CGI feature, like when people run in a blur.

Yeah,but I don’t get how it dosen’t feel like Pixar…to me that’s insignifcant…

Because Pixar characters usually move in a realistic ways, unlike, say, the Madagascar characters.

Well it is still a cartoon though, but JL said they wanted it to be a real as possible…but even at that that dosen’t make the film not feel like Pixr because of that…

Oh, no. The films do still feel like Pixar. What doesn’t seem to fit is the specific moment.

And Pixar films aren’t cartoons, at least in the traditional meaning of the word. According to Wikipedia:

I agree…it felt way too cartoony.

I don’t understand…it’s like wanting non-fiction to be fiction, which is impossible…It’s not real,it’s supposed to have some element of “cartoony” to it,just like that scene in the incredibles when that superhero dude got sucked into a tornado…

I think there have been isolated incidents of ‘cartoonism’ in various Pixar movies, and that Cars is not the exception. I’m trying to think of another example besides Lightning’s ‘floating in the air’ moment… I can’t recall any… but I’m sure there’s some.

While we’re on the topic, I just realised that ‘floating in the air’ moment is repeated in Cars 2 with Acer hovering in mid-air after flying out of the airplane, before falling into the septic truck.

Callback, maybe?

Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe I should jump in a septic tank. 8D

‘The Departed’ reference FTW

The Brony call you…join us… 8D

I have to agree. The McQueen hovering thing didn’t bother me but yeah, I would change that if I could. I understand it’s supposed to be a cartoon moment and since it’s a kids movie what can you expect? At least it wasn’t one of those total “Yeah right, like that would happen!” moments…I hate those kind of things. I too thought of the clip of Acer doing the same thing like tdit mentioned. :stuck_out_tongue:

I thought Lightning floating in the air was a reference to Michael Jordan. :open_mouth: I feel stupid…

I thought it was too. But someone had to explain it to me since I don’t follow that stuff  Maybe it was a mixture or cartoon and reference?? Two in one

And on a side note I get really defensive when someone calls any Pixar movie a “cartoon.”

I always have thought of them as cartoons. :open_mouth: My bad…

^ No no no  I mean like when someone out in RL says “It’s just a cartoon.” Or something like that. In a not nice way. I don’t know, it bugs me. It’s the tone

Oh, see, I agree with that. That’s just rude.

Oh. Me, on the other hand, didn’t know there was a Michael Jordan reference at all. Can you explain me?

And I’m with Evangeline, I don’t like it when people call all animation cartoons.

I’ll clear it up guys

Virginia is thinking of during the race scene when Lightning is in slow motion and his tounge is sticking out. That was the Michael Jordan reference.

Spirit is refering to the scene when Lightning can’t do the turn right and goes off the cliff into the cacti.
