If you got a tour of Pixar.....

If I could tour Pixar that would just be perfect. However, knowing I had no business being there would be kind of annoying. =P I mean really, what would I be offering?

Now if I worked there, oh that’d be ideal …

I’d want to meet John Lasseter since he is the guy that started it all and he just seems so nice, and I’d ask him why he wears such loud shirts. Heheh.

Well, first i’d ask if i could take some pictures on all sides of the building, then i’d like to play some foosball, then i’d like to visit some of the animators and see what they’re working on, and then sign the confidentiality agreement. i might want to see Brad Bird, John Lasseter, or Andrew Stanton, but they are just HUGE stars, and i might faint. But i wouldn’t leave without a taste of what’s from the kitchen! :stuck_out_tongue:

holy bbqpizzawthdgfldsjfdslk The Star Swordsman you ARE SO LUCKY

seriously 2 times? and your family member works there?
:open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

yeah ok spaz attack

anyways. :open_mouth:

i would do what A113 said but i think they make you sign the confidential agreement thing as soon as you get in… :stuck_out_tongue:

and i might just have a little bit of their cereal. :stuck_out_tongue:

haha! i’d want to do that but i’m pretty sure that they WOULD kick me out because i would be all spazzy

actually i would spaz if i heard i could even be able to tour there.

also i might want to meet Andrea Stanton or John Lasseter and then go buy myself a Pixar hat and shirt at their store :stuck_out_tongue: and then take a picture of the mike and sully or luxo thingies

I would want to go straight to the animation department! But I think once I’d get in there, I wouldn’t want to leave… and that could be problematic.

I’d want John Lasseter to give me a tour. I would love discussing the history of Pixar and animation in general with him.

If I ever get an opportunity to even meet a Pixar staff member (especially one of the more significant ones), I would definitely ask about the requirements for a staff position at the studio first. lol

But yeah, a tour of the studio would definitely be fun. Who knows? Maybe they even have life-sized model of my favorite Pixar characters. :stuck_out_tongue:

If I had the honor of meeting someone who works at Pixar–even the maintenance and mail room folks–I’d bow down in their presence. No, not really! But it would take a lot of effort to contain my excitement.

Exploring the Pixar studios would be an absolute dream come true. I always enjoy watching clips of the work environment there on the DVDs. I know many, many feel the same way (similar to how 98% of photographers want to shoot for National Geographic), but I really can imagine myself working there. The Pixar family looks like it’s made up of a lot of wonderful, unique, and talented people. They’re not in it for the money; they’re true filmmakers. That’s so inspiring to me. =)

Andrew Stanton or John Lesseter for sure. (sorry if spelling was off on the last names) Thatd be a sweet tour! Id never want to leave.

Does anyone have a family member or a friend i can borrow for a Pixar Studio tour?
I’ve been trying to look online to find out if there are any public studio tours but none are available?

Any suggestions

Actually, I made a similar search, for reasons I will not delve into for the sake of controversy here, only to find that Pixar does NOT allow the public to have tours.

See for yourself:

Sorry that I’m being so blunt. :frowning:

I would imagine that John Lasseter would be far too busy to meet now (being chief creative officer of Disney and all) but I know I would want to meet Andrew Stanton and tell him “Thank you for Nemo and Wall-E!”.

Every time I watch them in the studio on all the Pixar DVDs it looks like the most fun place to be in the entire world (the most amusing thing I saw was them having a chimpanzee with them on the DVD for Monsters Inc.). Some people that watch those behind-the-scenes clips probably don’t think that they take their work seriously, but we know from all their films that they do.

…Except for their annual charity event once a year.

Who would I prefer to talk to first?
Brad Bird.
What would I say to him first?
Ah, stuff talking to him, I’d just give him a high-5 immediately! But, for the sake of the question, I’d probably say: “So, a sewer rat cooking food. What were you thinking at the time?! :stuck_out_tongue:

SgtYayap - Surely they’ve given some VIPs a special tour.
Actually, if you’re in any way affiliated with the company, there would be a way to get a tour. I know this Australian speaker/presenter that was contracted by Pixar, and she got a tour, so, yeah.

If I could get a tour…I don’t know who I would talk to but I would love to see part of the process it takes in order to make a movie. I would love to see from storyboard to sketches and also some of the computer working magic, that’s mainly what I would do…although I wouldn’t mind talking to Lasseter but mainly because I think him and Tim Burton went to school together, I would probably want to hear about that. :-D)

Guess I should’ve brought up the update.

Netbug’s statement about annual charity tours of Pixar, despite what their website says, is true. I’m planning to attend next year’s.

Who knows, you might be lucky enough to become friends with someone who works or has a family member who works at pixar. Maybe that’s how you can get a tour.

A charity tour? That sounds cool, too bad nothing like that comes in my direction, too small of a town to be of any interest.

I love Brad Bird and John Lasseter because of the obvious TI and Toy Story, so I would be really excited to meet them.

Since we’re talking total fantasy here: Well, obviously I would choose one of the major players from “Up,” and if I get only one choice, I’m almost leaning toward Bob Peterson; I just think he’d be lots of fun to talk to, and I’d probably be a total dork and ask him to do the Dug voice. I’d love to see all the “gallery” of work from “Up,” and I would ask, “Hey, how much for you to sell me that maquette/sculpture of Young Charles Muntz?”

Here’s the procedure:

  1. Roll on the ground freaking out for 5-10 minutes
  2. Enter the building
  3. Repeat step 1
  4. Run over and steal all of their free cereal
  5. Run around, looking for Pete Docter
  6. Find Pete Docter
  7. Chat it up
  8. Go talk to everybody else.
  9. Try to go on a computer and animate a scene.
  10. They hire me because of my incredible skill.
  11. They find out it’s illegal because I’m too young.
  12. They don’t care, and take me anyway.
