Remember in one of the podcasts when they mentioned about studing real rats and then came the question “If you were a rat, what kind of rat would you be?”. I thought it might be interesting to see what everyones answer is.
If you need to use something as a referrence for rat breeds this is a good website to find what the standard ones look like
Myself, I would probably be a pet rat, even if I we’re actually a feild rat or something, I would probably end up walking into a pet store and being mistaken for one that belongs to the store anyway. I’d probably have a lot or quirks as well, for example I would probably only drink from one of those little water bottles and wash myself with the water dish. As for breed I don’t know what the average personality for each breed is (feel free to post anylink you may have on the subject) so as far as image goes
Varient: I suppose I would be standard or satin/glossy since I’m very clean.
Colour: I you think of fur as being hair colour I’d say that “Chocolate colour” is the closest, if you think of it as skin colour I’d say perhaps Himalayan or Champagne since I’m really pale but not to the point of not having colour in my eyes (and no, I don’t have bad health habits or sickness or anything that makes me pale, it’s just DNA. I get asked fairly often about that.)
Markings: I suppose it would be self since I don’t have any real colour inconsistancies.

That is a true fact about Remy about not having a choice. It is hard once you are born a rat, but I would choose to be a mouse instead of a rat IF if had the choice.

I would look like my first rat Sasami. She was a dumbo-eared blue rex berkshire. The rex meant her fur and whiskers were curly. The berkshire markings meant she had a white tummy, white paws and white tail tip. And blue is just an awesome color for a rat.
Either like Sasami, or masked. They look like little pandas <3
RadRad - Is that the same type of rat they used to play the role of Ben in Willard, or was that a Gambian rat? Well, they’re cool looking critters, in any case! If it wouldn’t tear my house apart I’d get one… (snigger)
I think that a mouse is way cuter and cleaner than a rat.
