In the footsteps of Remy - Spoilers

So, I was in Paris today, and I took some photos of places that you can see in Ratatouille. I thought it would be nice to share this with you, since most of you can’t get there, and I obviously can

First : Yes, this shop does exist :

As you can see, the owner seems proud.
Now, some months ago, I went under the bridge where the scene between Linguini and Remy takes place and took some photos. But in the movie, there’s a shot on that same bridge. This is a screenshot I borrowed from pixarroom.free.fr :

And this was today :

There are a few more places that are shown in Ratatouille, but these two are, I think, the most recognizable.

Wow that’s cool that you went to Paris. I can’t believe they really exist, dead rats! Eww. Well tahnks for sharing the pictures with us, Archibald

Yeah. And it says they’ve been captured around 1925. So they’ve probably been in there for the last 80 years

80 years! :open_mouth: That is so gross, poor rats. Well anyway thanks for telling me that.

Wow. I do remember reading an article about that “rat trap” store which is depicted in the film. That’s interesting that that particular shop really does exist. Heh – I love how the owner posted a giant Ratatouille sticker on his door.

Oh, so that’s where Linguini and Colette where situated in the movie! I didn’t know that it was a bridge, much less the one that loomed over Linguini and Remy during the Seinne sequence. Interesting, indeed…

Thanks for the pictures, sir!

Nice pictures, Archibald! Altough I must say that that shop sorta creeps me out… When I first saw it in the movie, I got a bit “uncomfortable”, even sad, you know what I mean? :unamused:

Ahh, that bridge! My mom has actually some pictures of Paris when she went there ten years ago, and in one of those photos I believe we can see that bridge… I’ll scan it and show to you later!

Thanks for sharing!

Fabulous pictures! I didn’t know that the shop actually existed; wow!

Neat photos, Archibald!

I’m not too thrilled about the Ratatouille poster. I think the placement of it on the door of a pest extermination shop is a mockery.

~~=oP

Thanks for those, Archibald! It was fascinating to me comparing the real-life photos and screenshots from the movie.

Neat

Well I suppose it’s abit similar to how some place will post a sign if it was featured in live action movie or T.V. show. So…why not in this case too? after all, it was indeed there

Holy Cow Archibald! Neat photos! I thought it is cool that there is such a shop! It looks just like the movie! ANd I really love the second pair of photos! It is a real place too! It only goes to show how much Pixar love details in their movie!

That’s so cool! Hopefully I can go there myself and see it someday. ^^
