Wow that’s really cool that they thaught Greek too. That
is quite the shame that they got rid of it and are only teaching French and Spanish now. Although those languages
are useful and common, they don’t stand out as much on a college application. Plus, Latin just rocks overall.

Yeah, my high school
decided to drop their German program just after I graduated… and then my old college decided to drop advanced
German classes (anything beyond German 101) right after I took 102, if they didn’t get rid of them completely.
It’s really hard to be a student of German… not many people speak it around here, or are interested in
learning it. Thank goodness Liberty decided to start having classes, except they’re starting right with 101
again… oh well, I need to brush up on my basics.
I do know of JCL- my Latin teacher mentioned it-
but I’m in England, so I can’t join, unfortunately.
The choice of languages at schools seems to be
decreasing all the time- our school’s considering dropping German, and the only other languages are French and
Spanish, though the Sixth Form I’m planning on going to also does Japanese.
Jamie-Lew- yes, Latin does
rock!
Sheesh
I am old. I teach 2nd grade.
