Yesterday CBS
had that special 100 years 100 movies where a bunch of actors, filmakers, and experts ranked the 100 greatest
movies ever. And John Lasseter was in it! He talked about Toy Story which was #99 (i would have put it higher
than that, but it’s cool that it got in) and Snow White (the only other animated film on the list. Ranked in the
30s I think) He also talked about a few others including some comedy from the 1930s, and a movie that had a Pluto
clip in it. The Pluto clip was causing the audience to laugh hysterically and John said seeing that was what made
him want to do animation for a living.
Wow, sounds cool! I’m pleased Toy Story was in there,
especially considering that there was only one other animated film, and the other one was a real Disney classic.
Thanks for the info., lennonluvr9!
lennonluvr9: That is nothing but pure awesomeness right
there. I was quite surprised that SNow White was the only other animated film, but I am happy TS is up
there.

Indeed. I was pleased that they had someone from the animation world there. I
kept pointing (with copious amounts of glee) and telling my family who he was. I only got blank stares back.
Still, it made my night hearing about where his inspiration came from.
I wonder if they’ll ever
do an AFI of top 100 family movies. There’s enough out there by now.
Awesome!!! I was
watching this show too, but I only got to see th last 30 of the movies on that show.

Wow – that’s awesome! It’s such an inspiration to see how far the studio and its people
have come. Even if Toy Story was one of the last to be featured on the list, the
fact that it actually made it on the thing is an achievement in itself.
Congratulations to John Lasseter
and the entire Pixar team!
