I think of everyone who
works at Pixar, John Lasseter is my favorite. He’s just such a cool guy - he’s got an imagination like a kid,
and has failed to make a single bad movie. AND he’s the guy who’s doing so much to save Disney animation!
Did you know he was in the same class at CalArts as Brad Bird, Tim Burton, and John
Musker?
Here’s a great article about him -

A great man indeed with great ideas.
Not to mention
he’s friends with, and probably inspired by the creator of Howls Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delievery Service, and
Spirited Away. I roughly know his name but spelling it is a bit difficult.
Hayao Miyazaki, I think.
Yeah, Lasseter rules. I
love it when they do a little tour of Pixar and he presents it- he’s got such a great sense of humour.

I’m sooo happy that Disney’s animation is now in the hands of this man… he’s just
perfect for the job, and it was something that he really wanted as well. I can only picture good things right
now. I really hope I get to meet the guy one day… and perhaps make a score for one of his films.
They have heralded him as
the next Walt Disney . . . and that’s saying something!!

I wouldn’t go
that far, I think, but I love the guy!

Yes that is right. Thank you Lizardgirl.
I think what Lasseter did for CGI animation is nearly equivelant to what Disney did for
traditional animation, but Disney really did pioneer it all.
Lasseter
is my favorite, too. Not only to I really like his approach to filmmaking, but I admire his whole attitude that
work should be FUN! What I wouldn’t give to work for a boss who showed up each day in a Hawaiian shirt, instead
of the usually stiff suit and tie!

Lasseter’s amazing. I think what I like best about him is he’s so personable. Whenever I
watch a DVD special feature that he hosts, what strikes me is he doesn’t sound like he’s doing an interview.
It sounds like he’s telling a story. And he’s always so excited about whatever it is he’s talking about.
I’d just love to work for someone who has that kind of energy, who really believes what he’s doing. Lasseter
has proven to me that it’s possible to be optimistic and energetic for all your life.
John Lasseter is the best Director of all time!

Pixar definately wouldn’t be what it is today without him!
I remember watching
Inside the Actor’s Studio, and this episode had Tim Allen. While they were talking
about Toy Story, Allen said “And John Lasseter, he pretty much is the the ruler of the world”…so
true.
PS- Hello, first post!
I seriously doubt that it’s
possible for anybody who’s worked with John to not hold him in high regard. I wouldn’t know from personal
experience, which is a great shame, but just from what I’ve seen on the DVDs and what I’ve heard people who
have worked with him say.
What else can I say but that he’s a supah-genius?
And welcome to the
Planet, Clover!
