I like his name:
it has a nice “solid” feeling, if you know what I mean.

Spider-Man -
Sure thing, dude! ![]()
Gasduude - Haha – solid indeed, albeit a little weird.
Although, I have to admit that it really does seem to suit him. Seriously, we couldn’t have picked out a
better rat to adopt since Ben; he’s an absolute sweety and loves to be played with.
Thanks for the comment/compliment, Gasduude! ![]()
Congrats on him!
He looks so cute! And I love the name, it suits him! ![]()
The
Loner - Thank you! ![]()
Aww, how sweet, Mitch! He looks adorable, and his
name is very cool.
You gotta love mums, eh? ![]()
He looks so cute! I’m looking forward to seeing new
pics of him!
I’m sure Reggie is happy that he found you, and you found him. ![]()
lizardgirl - Haha – indeed! ![]()
And thank you! ![]()
rachel - I know! Just think: if he hadn’t posed so nicely for me when I
tried to draw his picture, I might never have adopted him. (snigger)
Thank you for the comment! I’ll
post some more pictures soon… ![]()
Thanks for your little update.
The Star Swordsman - You are
most welcome! However, there have been a change of plans. Read the note below… ![]()
I feel so…weird…
Update: Alright, so it
turned out that the rat I got was an absolute dud. Yep – that’s right. You heard correctly. The poor thing was
as lethargic as a caterpillar in a toaster oven (and yes, I know that that makes absoutely no sense whatsoever);
henceforth, my mom and I had to take the rascal back to Petco in exchange for a healthier, more energetic rat.
Little wuss… (snigger) ![]()
So now we have a new rat: Kirby! Kudos to anyone who gets the pun behind
that very clever little name that my mom thought up… (heheh)
Trust me when I say that I think we hit a
home run with this one. “Round two” is proving to be much more pleasurable and fanatic; the newcomer
actually acts like a rat: he nips my fingers, will explore his cage, and doesn’t go
to sleep upon coming in contact with a blanket! Let’s hope that it stays that way… ![]()
I’ll get some
pictures of “Kurby” later. Until then, I say a fond farewell to petite Cody. We only owned him for a
total of three days and he was second sweetest rat I’ve ever known. Heh.
Congrats on the new rat, I can’t wait to see the photos. He sounds like a lot of fun. ![]()
I feel stupid because I don’t get the pun and I’m driving myself crazy trying to figure it out.
Cute
name though. ![]()
sharpie - Thank you! ![]()
Haha – well, as for the pun: “Kirby” is the name of a line of vaccums. Vacuums, as you know,
gobble up everything in sight. And rats also eat pretty much everything, right? Voila’! Kirby.
![]()
Awww, how sweet! He’s adorable! Love the name,
too!
How old is he now? He looks teeny!
I think Ratatouille is going
to encourage a lot of people to get pet rats, the same way Finding Nemo sparked an
interest in marine life (although it also generated a mass drop in imaginative names, they were aaaall called
Nemo!).
I think it’s a good thing; I’d love to see rats get a more positive reputation. They make the
absolute best pets - I had three absolutely gorgeous girls who were just incredible. Rats have very distinct
personalities and they’re so easy to train and they enjoy attention and being fondled so they’re especially
good for kids. Bring on the rat owners!
Ohhhh, well that’s cool. I was thinking of that little pink guy that sucks up
everything, at first. ![]()
The wierd thing is, our vaccum is that brand. Geez, I’m slow. ![]()
What’s wrong with Nemo???
I have one named Nemo,
one named Marlin, and a cleaner fisn named Jaques.
Though I found out the hard way that Marlin’s a girl.
![]()
But yeah - I’m now seriously contemplating a pet rat. 0=)
I want a fat rat like Emile!
I could get a rat if my family wasn’t so afraid of them. i would have a mouse instead.
Mell_O_Drama - Heheh – thank you very much, Mell!
The little rascal must have been around four weeks old when we had/got him.
Notice the emphasis on the word “when”. Yep. That’s right. We don’t have the little monster anymore.
Unfortunately, he turned out to be rather ill, so we chose to trade him in for another rat. Poor diminuative
thing. I hope he recovers soon…
On the plus side, we now have a new rat named ‘Kirby’! He’s
approxiamately five/six months old and is quite the character. Take a look at the picture that I captured of him
(below)!
Get one, Dash! Care for it. Feed it. Name it
“Remy”! (snigger)
![]()
Here is “round two” – Kirby:

As I mentioned before, he is…umm…quite the character. However, his exuberant personality
will enable me to teach him tricks with ease. ![]()
Aww, he is just so adorable! Ah man, I just want to cuddle him up right now!
Aww – he got sick?! Or was sick? Anyway, that’s too
bad! He was so cute, too! ![]()
However, “round two” looks like a wonderful replacement! ![]()
The Star
Swordsman - Heheh – my thoughts exactly. You just wanna kiss him! ![]()
Gasduude - Yeah, the little bugger was rather ill when we brought him
home…and we didn’t even know it until a couple days after we introduced him to the family. Poor thing was
wobbling slightly to the side, and he slept more often than was necessary. Oh well…
But yep:
“round two” is doing great, despite the fact that my evil little sister fed him a few chocolate chip
cookies earlier when I wasn’t looking. Thankfully, rats aren’t a victim of the deadly “toxins” in
chocolate. The worst that will happen to them is that they’ll succumb to “obesseness”. Hopefully, he
didn’t eat too many cookies. ![]()
