I’ve searched and found that neither McDonalds or Burger King is doing anything for Toy Story 3. What about internationally or elsewhere? Does anyone know? That was part of the fun the “first time” around.
Yeah, I mean, I didn’t search for it, but I assume I would have seen/heard something about happymeal toys from someone. to not have a tie in is something I’d never see coming. maybe they decided to spend the money elsewhere this time. maybe they figured this movie didn’t need that kind of promotion at this point. Who doesn’t know about the franchise by now anyway?
Maybe they gave all that money to thinkway for their TSC line, haha.
I wonder if they decided to instead hold off until it releases on Blu ray? could be a smart move if they don’t want to do it all at once.
Sadly, I see very little fast food promotions anymore. That kind of thing was always big back in the 80’s and 90’s cause it was very hard as a kid to not see kids meal toys or plastic/glass cups for every cartoon and film that was out at the time. Today it feels very faded and whatever toys they do give away seem sort of bland and nothing that would look cool enough to want to have (thus another reason why many nostalgics miss their childhood). I’ll admit, I miss seeing Burger King give out stuff like those Toy Story hand puppets. In fact I even miss Kid Vid if anyone still remembers who he is.
I even miss the bigkids meal. those cheese fries where you put the cheese in the bag and shake’em? And a double cheeseburger. I mean, this is stuff I would eat any way as an adult. plus fries a drink and a toy? it was awesome.
But yeah, I think nowadays there’s too much of a backlash about luring kids to eat unhealthy foods by giving away toys so they have really toned down the money that goes into it, making the toys themselves suffer in the process.
The poseable BK action figures were the best, and though I never had them, I practically lusted over them in Jr High when my friends had them.
TS kids meals toys have gone the way of most kids meals toys- either being bland or real cool but pointless- like the CPK or Hot Wheels offered periodically by McDonalds. -Omar
If I remember correctly, Disney and McDonalds have completely parted ways when it comes to toys, so it’s up to other companies and movies (such as Shrek.) to fill the void.
I miss the days of getting the latest Disney movie toy with my chicken nuggets.
So maybe that’s why I never heard anything about Wall-E or Up having Happy Meal toys. The last Pixar film I can remember having them was The Incredibles (and I guess Cars also).
Shame. Toy Story, as I recall, had toys for both theatrical release and home video. Heck, I’d even love if Wendy’s or Taco Bell took over, I loved those fast food toys.
I’d probably doubt it, but it’d be nice if Burger King started having Disney toys again if there are ever any films that would call for them.
I miss them oing that to. But fast food places have been making there toys alot cheaper over the years. I remember you use to get a real Hot wheel, now you get a hunk of plastic that you can put stickers on.

Mmmmm… Those were the BEST!
I remember when they gave Toy Story 2 Happy Meal toys. I still have three or so of the exclusive posters. All my toys got massively damaged tough, so I gave them to Goodwill.
Here’s a small collection of Pixar toys that I still have from McDonald’s and Burger King (mostly for A Bug’s Life):
That Mr. Potato Head wasn’t really for Toy Story but it was from when the character was used as a mascot for Burger King for a short time to promote their french fries. And the Dory toy for Finding Nemo makes Ellen’s “speak whale” sound from the film. Some of these I probably got later on at places like Goodwill.
Pretty much been covered, McDonalds started teaming with Dreamworks when Shrek the Third came out, and no other restaurant will do Pixar toys.
It’s a shame, I really wanted a WALL-E in my kids meal back in 08.
Flik-E, that collection is awesome!! I also have that Woody that’s supposed to hold candy, as well as the matching Buzz, and a load of The Incredibles ones and a Nemo that I think was intended as a water gun. I have a load of old Disney ones from Mulan, Pocohantas, Pooh and tons more.

Yeah, I have a lot of Disney toys also and others that were for typical 90’s stuff at the time like Pokemon and Power Rangers: The Movie.
I’ve still got the Woody puppet from the original Toy Story promotion, as well as the black and white Woody marionette toy from Toy Story 2. I had Robot, RC, and two different versions of Buzz at one time, but I don’t have them anymore.
In addition, I too have one of the Burger King Potato Head toys. It’s really small, with big floppy arms. I think it was originally once piece of a larger toy, but I found it at a garage sale a while back and just thought it was cool.
I have the Woody candy dispenser, and then a Burger King Buzz, and even a Mcdonalds Bo Peep! I have tons of the Happy Meal toys.
I also had the Woody marionette toy but I lost it.
I still have a Zurg from McDonalds and a Slinky from Burger King!
Man, where has my collection of Toy Story fast food toys gone to? I had an LGM, Jessie, Woody and Bullseye, and so much more. Good times.
