wow, that was something. It was a little sad. ![]()
Thanks for sharing this with us Gasdude!
Yes it was sad. Very heartfelt… ![]()
Your welcome! ![]()
OMG, that’s so cute! Sad, too, specially that part when he let a tear out… <3
Thanks for sharing, dude! ![]()
Aww, that was a really sad short. But I really, really loved it. Nice find. I really fellt sad for the kiwi.
If you listen carefully at 2:29 you can hear the thud. It was really sad, I showed my friend it and she didn’t get it at all! The poor little kiwi risked his life just to live his dream of flying. ![]()
I would like to think of it as not risking his life, but more like giving up everything and going the distance to accomplish your dream.
Ahh heartwarming indeed…
I think Pixar could find promise…not in merely the simple animation, but heart.
The cuteness of this little guy hammering trees to the side heh of a cliff. Then you find out he did it so many times to accomplish the vision of flying…
I don’t think he’s risking his life really, all we know there could be an ocean or water or some sort of something to stop him from getting hurt. Or for all we know, he really does fly…
I give it a 6/10 for animation (I’m flaunting a bit for what comes next so I honestly believe to give it higher) but…a 10/10 for heart ![]()
Awwwww…
(wipes tear)
Man I hope I can pull out something this emotion-felt when it’s time for me to make a demo-reel. (I’m not saying this is one though)
(Man I shouldn’t have watched that before I called it a day, now I’m gonna have dreams about it…
)
Great, sniff great story though… ![]()

That was so moving. The idea was simple, original, to the point, and infused with heart. Pixar should get in contact with this person. ![]()
[spoil]Some people did or didn’t like the thud at the end. I did. It was meant to show that the kiwi was willing to die, and more importantly he knew he was going to die, for the short experience of flying.[/spoil]
^ I think someone else may have said that, though.
I think he knew he was going to die, but I think the tear he shed was a tear of happiness. He is living his dream.
Well, better to have a short life and live, than have a long life and never achieve your wishes.
I’m not sure about the thud at the end…On the one hand, it really hits the viewer with the reality of what the kiwi has done, but on the other hand, without it would the short be as complete?
