This was brought to my attention on another forum that I belong to. What is up with the almost complete lack of merchandise for Pixar’s films? Disney Store merchandise seemed to end with Ratatouille. Though there have been many a Dug plushie as of late, but that’s been about it for Up. I don’t think that’s good enough for most collectors/fans. Thoughts? What do you think this due to?
i tottaly agree
where is all the mini plastic action figure characters? ![]()
All depends on the movie. There’s still an abundance of Cars and Toy Story merchandise because those films lend themselves to such.
I’d absolutely go gaga over Up merch, I want so much stuff for it, theme my room to it, everything. Come on Pixar, stick some more stuff out there for us!
i agree but with up all we got was stuff animal dogs and a lot of books
I WANT ACTIONS FIGURES

I agree, Pixart. Action figures would be cool! But I guess if they don’t see a market for them, they won’t make them.
I agree to a certain extent, but where I live locally there aren’t really any shops that sell either Disney or Pixar toys. There’s only one toy shop in town and they do have some Pixar merchandise, most of it seeming to be WALL-E orientated. And the only other time I see Pixar merchandise is if I travel a bit further to Southampton, and they’ve got a Disney Store there which seems to mainly have Cars, WALL-E and Toy Story stuff in terms of Pixar toys. So my experiences aren’t really representative of just how much merchandise there is out there, especially as there probably isn’t as big a market for it over here.
I’m surprised that there isn’t loads of Pixar merchandise in America, though. I do like the sound of Pixar action figures- I’d definitely buy some!
There were TONS of Finding Nemo and Cars items when those movies came out, and you can still find a lot of Toy Story things in Disney Stores here in the US(what few of them are left, that is). There was a pretty good amount of WALL-E merchandise as well, along with that movie’s release. I honestly haven’t been in a Disney Store since that movie’s release, though, so I don’t know how much of WALL-E stuff is still out there, or how much Up merchandise they have at the nearest outlets around here. I know I’ve often said this on the Bogg’s Board, that there never was a whole lot of Monsters, Inc. merchandise, not even when the movie was new, and that goes for the parks as well as the Disney Stores, and they largely ignore characters that wind up being very popular and tend to “push” just certain ones. Of course, with regards to Cars, given that I live in the Southeastern US, arguably the “NASCAR Capital of the Universe”, with famous Darlington “Lady In Black” practically in my backyard, it’s no surprise that they’d really have a lot of stuff released around here about that movie; in fact, the last time I was in a Disney Store, they still had a lot of merchandise for Cars, and a lot of the chain retailers like Wal-Mart still carry a lot, too.

they should make at least some carl fredrickson action figures at every store just so pixar fans can have them. I’d love a carl action figure. I’m still upset they never made much monsters inc., there’s not much argument for me that those characters aren’t marketable. And a remy action figure, or at least a remy pepper shaker.
Salt & Pepper shakers
Cake dishes
Cheese plates
Tea pot
They had a lot of other neat Ratatouille kitchen stuff but I can’t seem to find much about them online ![]()
Edit: Nevermind! This site has some photos at the bottom of a lot of stuff!

Haha, nice kitchen-ware. There are gonna be Carl and Russell vinyl figures coming out later this year, they’re already up for preorder. There’s a link to them in the Up Merchandise thread (thanks Rey), I seriously need to get a hold of the Carl one, and maybe Russell if the wallet is feeling a bit bloated. I wish I could get everything, but alas, money rules the world. Really excellent looking figures though, check em out.
I’ve noticed there isnt much merchandise for UP too. But I think certain movies lend themselves more to toys and merchandise than others do. Or indeed, different types of merchandise. Like I wouldnt expect to see kitchenware connected with anything other than Ratatouille. Not saying it couldnt happen with another film, but I wouldnt go out looking for Lightning McQueen cake plates ![]()

Well, I don’t think that Up needs a million toys or anything, but something to cater to the fans, which they do have. I just want more of it is all. Too bad that like EVERY Up Disney Pin is LE 300 or lower, seriously?! That’s insane. The only one I’ve seen that isn’t is the opening day pin. What the heck Disney, go and make everything impossible for me to get why don’t ya.
Thanks again Rey for the awesome links, you always post some amazing stuff!
