Just to update, I’m working on another one! From Monty Python’s Life of Brian, I started it shortly before Thanksgiving and hopefully I can get around to finishing it. But I might have to wait till I’m out of school before that happens.
I looked through you dA gallery. You have some really nice there! Keep it up!
Thank you much! Glad you liked it!
Hey! I’ve done another one! It’s not the Life of Brian one like I had planned, as it didnt turn out right. I have yet to do a decent drawing from that movie, after having tried twice! Anywho, no school means I can draw more often. This one’s got kind of a Christmas theme, as it’s lovable Ebenezer Scrooge from the 1951 movie, starring Alastair Sim (who is my fav Scrooge out of all the Christmas Carol versions I’ve seen):

Great for this time of year, lennonluvr9. Your portrait skills are excellent! And I love the expression on his face, it’s very emotive. You’re a Scrooge fan too, eh? Scrooge has to be one of the best and most iconic literary characters involving Christmas ever. Nice work!
lennonluver9, your B&W portraits are really good!
lizardgirl- indeed I am a Scrooge fan! I’ve always liked Christmas Carol but this year for some reason I’ve become facinated with the 1951 version. I love that expression too, it’s kind of amusing to me in a way since usually at the beginning he was so sure of himself. Here he’s really caught off guard.
queen of painting- Thanks! Glad you like em!
Yay! So this one was completely unexpected, as I’ve just recently discovered the show Blackadder about a week ago (although I was aware of it before that). This is actually Rowan Atkinson (perhaps better known to some of you as Mr. Bean or the voice of Zazu) from the second series, Blackadder II, which takes place in the 16th century. Let me just say it can be hard to draw a guy in 16th century dress

Ahh, I love Rowan Atkinson. And your drawing of him is great! You’ve got a really good likeness of him, and your shading and toning work has definitely improved.
Thanks lizardgirl!
Yeah I’m getting into Rowan since seeing this show, I’ve checked out a bunch of his sketches and I find very amusing when he’s not being silly and stupid, if you get my meaning.
I cant take all the credit, my new computer scans much darker and much sharper than my old one, which actually makes this image more true to what my original looks like.
Very good stuff!
Thank you much! Anything in particular you liked?
Very good! I like his pose in your pic, like he’s done inspecting his fingernails and is now smirking at the viewer. Heh. I should watch Blackadder someday.
Excellent job on that! It looks really hard to draw, but it looks like you finished a little masterpiece! Seriously, the value, the expression…it’s all perfectly in place.
driveintheatre- yeah you should! Blackadder II is especially funny although Blackadder the Third is really good too.
Thanks you two! It’s always nice to feel appreciated. Actually I feel a bit vindicated right now. I’ve had a very frustrating week so that really boosted my spirits
I tried hard to get that expression correct and to really make it look like Rowan. Rowan’s harder to draw than he looks.
lennonluvr9 - Nice work on the Rowan Atkinson drawing! Your handling of the art of rendering is impeccable.

Thanks Mitch! yeah I am pretty decent at this, arent I?
lennonluvr9 - Ha-ha. You’re welcome, and, yep, you’ve definitely got talent!

From my Pixar art thread-
Okay, so, this term i’m taking a Photoshop class so i wanted to post a few of the things I’ve done.
The first one is the first assignment I did which basically involved making the photo look as good as possible-

For this one we had to manipulate it with filters-

Very cool! I love playing around with Photoshop! How are you enjoying it? I’d like to see more of the pieces you produce in that class!
