Lightning and Mater in MGM

I know I haven’t been here in a while but I thought everyone might

like these pictures I recently took on my chorus trip to Disney. We performed at Epcot and then the band led the

light parade through main street at Magic Kingdom. I was first in line! Then the rest of the week we just went to

the different parks and I just happened to find these two at MGM, the pictures would be better but my group was

in a hurry so I had to snap the picture and run. Hope you like them!

cool pictures! I think i went to MGM before, it’s been a while, when exactly did you

go?

Last week April 1st to the 7th, I

don’t suggest driving 22 hours but it was worth it, our last day was at MGM and these two were just driving

around, I saw them probably about 3 times, but my friends were so busy that this was all I got. It was really

cool, they had music playing from the movie and engine sounds coming from Lightning, I liked it

that sounds cool :sunglasses: they look plastic made, what where you doing there on a vaction or

something?

Wow awesome pictures Life isa

Highway!!!

CarFreak: It was my chorus trip to Disney. We

performed at Epcot and
then I led the band in the light parade through main street

and past the castle at Magic Kingdom because I'm also in
            color gaurd. Then the

rest of the week we just went to the
different parks.

They were kind of plastic made,

but they were cool anyway. The fact that they actually drove around made me smile, I just wish Doc had been there

too.

Nice I saw them there over the Christmas holidays.

Wow –

They sure made Lightning look realistic! :sunglasses:

Yeah they did! Any more realistic and he would have been

talking lol

Wow – looks like you had a great time! You got to lead

the band and everything, and then Mater and Lightning paid you a visit to top it all off… (snigger)

I

agree with Gasduude: They did make them look pretty

realistic! Too bad they’re not real.

Thanks for the pictures!

They did pay me a visit, we had a nice little chat

lol

Haha – cool.

Too bad they didn’t have Doc Hudson, like you said. Now

that would have been awesome. Perhaps they’ll build a replica of the fabulous

Hudson Hornet one day?

Oh how cool! Lightning and Mater look so awesome.

Just like they did In Disney’s California Adventure.

Mitch: They have actually made a replica of Doc, I just didn’t get to see him. I

also just recently found a picture of the real Fabulous Hudson Hornet while on DeviantArt. It’s on display in a

museum in South Carolina sigh I could talk forever about that car lol. I tend to annoy people with all the

history I know about racing lol.

I have seen replicas made for the parks, I guess he just didn’t feel

like fighting the crowds that day

To bad that it was just

Lightning and Mater. I would love to see at least two to four more cars to join the parade. I would love for them

to include The King, Doc, and Sally (for the girls).

Life isa

Highway - Oh yeah, ya’ know what…I also remember that now! I did see pictures of the real

fabulous Hudson Hornet and a replica of Doc himself on some select websites. Pretty cool.

But yeah, I

agree: Too bad Doc didn’t pay California a visit. (snigger)

Maybe if they turn Disney’s

Autotopia to a Cars theme, Doc might be one of the ridable cars.

The Star Swordsman : I would love to see The King driving around! It would also be

pretty amazing to have Doc as a ridable car, I did notice they changed some of the rides I remembered to go along

with recent movies, such as Stitch’s great escape…I seem to remember that ride actually being scary when I

was 5, before they changed it. So i’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Cool, were Lightning and Mater animitronic floats or were they just like statues temporary set

up there ?

Nope, they were

drivable. I’m guessing it’s a frame over a go-cart type vehicle, but they are actually driven :sunglasses:
