Everybody hates him, yah yah we’ve all heard this before. Actually, I think Jackson is very good at writing reviews, only he has horrible taste. While Armond White is hated and his reviews don’t make any sense, at least LCJ does a good job of telling you why he likes/hates a film.
Still, I don’t have much respect for him. He takes himself too seriously, and he often brags about his position. He treats himself like he’s the only child reviewer in the world, when I’m sure many of us have held this title earlier in our lives (including me). I think his biggest problem is that he chooses to be a movie reveiwer who cannot see R movies. There’s nothing wrong with that at first glance, but he’s doing Oscar themed entries, and he has only seen four of the Best Picture nominees. Also, he gives immense praise to last year’s short Logorama (which I liked too), but he has never even seen it.
I suppose I’ll say: “This kid needs to respectfully die.” -Or he needs to be grounded from watching movies for a week.
