listens I can certainly hear similarities with Michael Giacchino’s past work, especially with The Incredibles, but this definitely sounds more “fun” and “cartoony”. Oh yay, the Speed Racer theme orchestra-style! Yes, it sure does sound like the whole recording, rather than tracks from an album because I can hear some cues no more than 10 seconds long, which generally aren’t released on OSTs (unfortunately).

Someone screwed up big time. I hope that someone downloads all the tracks and uploads it somewhere else, so that people can have a listen to it, out of interest. To find out that one track wasn’t even edited, well, that’s just bizarre. But still really cool. In a way I wish that my favourite soundtracks had every single cue from the movie in them, and not just the most prominent ones. Michael seems like a very friendly guy to all the people in the orchestra.

Now if only this flub could have happened with Ratatouille or WALL•E… ;-p

I don’t want to see Speed Racer; it might give me seizures; the trailer almost did. :shake:

I am not sure about watching it, but since it is Giachinno, I’ll probably get the soundtrack if it is convincing enough.

Mitch: yes, Michael’s not only a great composer, but a really great guy. That’s why we all love working for him.

miafka - I really wish that I had the time to listen to it yesterday, especially seeing that the link/score itself is gone now. As you stated, one doesn’t often get a chance to hear unedited and/or prerecorded music from a film before that production’s official soundtrack is released. From the sound of things, though, Mr. Giacchino seems to be a very comely and amiable fellow – I wouldn’t mind paying him my compliments one of these moons. :wink:
