I didn’t see The Lion King in theaters…but I don’t know about seeing a 2D film in 3D…how is that even possible?

I was so surprised for this, and even more when I saw that my movie theater had already established a release date for it so soon, I won’t miss it, this film represents a lot for me

LOVE The Lion King

I can imagine the newspaper headlines now: [spoil]Return of the King[/spoil] 8D

You can look the trailers up on Youtube. Magnificently cut and brings back all those wonderful memories. I remember I couldn’t stop crying as a kid after Mufasa’s death, and I asked my parents and aunty (who was watching with us) to turn it off, but luckily they perservered and I felt better! Thank goodness they had the ‘Hakunana Matata’ number to cheer us up!

I find it kinda weird for Disney to bring out a 2D-animated film in 3D (how would that even work?) But then, The Lion King is a great movie (even though it could’ve done with a little less hyena bashing) and I hope they will also release it over here.

In the English version, 'cuz I know Holland, dubbing everything they proclaim is for kids…

The Lion King is my favorite Disney movie, so I plan on seeing it in 3D.

How can a 2D movie play in 3D? I have no clue.
Would I like to see it? Of course! (3rd fave Disney movie behind Beauty and the Beast and Tangled)
Will I get to see it? Probably not.

Cool to hear it’s going back to theaters, though. So many people love it, so I figured they would do that sometime soon.

It’s possible to do the conversion. They’ve done it to a many movies.

Just like when you go to the theatres, and you can choose to see a film in 2D or 3D.

I saw this and my heart exploded. I can’t wait to see it! I missed out when I was little on not seeing it in theaters, and I can’t wait to see it in it’s full glory

I’ll see it because I think i never saw the 1st one in theaters. I don’t care about the 3D.

The main purpose of The Lion King’ re-release is that it will come in 3D, there won’t be 2D screenings … that is what I understood

I know this, I was making an explination of other cases. How a movie can be both.

50 bucks says that this is gonna get cancelled just like ‘Beauty And The Beast 3D’.

NO, The Beauty and The Beast 3D wasn’t cancelled, it was released in many countries around the world last year and this year, however I don’t know the reason why it hasn’t been showed in the US

PS: Many countries have already scheduled The Lion King 3D, no reason it gets cancelled

i lust don’t care for 3d, to me, it’s kinda of a scam. though I may see this one.

I agree with David on the scam part.

Anyway, I will definitely miss this one. Can’t wait not to see it. First off, it’s not worth what it takes to drag our family of 7 to the theater. And, my dad would kill me, because it’s been on DVD for 17 years. 8D Besides, 3D gives me such a head ache. It’s not even close to worth it to me.

^ 8D hahahaha, it actually sounds really funny when you put it that way! It’s been on DVD for a while now, hasn’t it?

And 3D is such a scam, I’m sick of paying for it. Our family of five saw Pirates in 3D, and it cost like $60. For a day at the movies. That’s insanity! Never again. It just stinks that everything has more showtimes in 3D and around here you have to schedule your day around the movie if you wanna see it in plain old 2D, the showtimes are so limited. Darn!

But I’ll see this anyway, even though 3D bothers me, because I don’t know the next time I’ll be able to see TLK in theaters again!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I’m already checking Regal Cinemas online daily to find a good time to see Cars 2 in 2D on the day of my party. It’s a pain. And I know what you mean about seeing the Lion King on the big screen. I hope you get to.

I wouldn’t call it a scam you guys.

A scam is dishonest scheme or a fraud.

My sources tell me that the DVD player was not invented until 1996, which was fifteen years ago. So you are saying that The Lion King was on DVD before any system that could operate DVD’s existed?

(Interestingly, there is a Sabrina the Teenage Witch episode from 1998 where Ms. Quick says that she has all the Little House on the Prarie episodes on DVD, which is odd because no one with a high school teacher’s salary would have been able to afford a DVD-player in 1998. Anyway, it is nice to think that people watching that episode when it first aired would not have know what a DVD was.)

I never said it was a scam. I just refuse to pay for it. I don’t care if other people do. :stuck_out_tongue:
