i’m curious about these characters well Stanley was the founder of Radiator springs and Lizzie was
Stanley’s widow, now how excatly could Stanley be gone and Lizzie still there? there’s mysteries about these
two characters but all we know is all in the movie.

I always wondered that myself. I always assumed that
Stanley either died in a car crash (snigger), or passed away due to old age. Although, I’m not really sure how
cars could die of old age; maybe they fall apart or something?
Interesting topic, CarFreak…
Some times, cars live longer than others. Lizzie was
probably one of the lucky ones.
Maybe Stanley threw a rod.

route66news - Ha – that’s a good one.
I also tend
to agree with your answer, The Star Swordsman. Hasn’t it also been said that most women live longer than men? I
seem to recall hearing that saying somewhere in the past. Perhaps, if it is true, it also applies to cars as
well?

This is possible character development for CARS 2
Now that you
mentioned it, I might actually want to see how the characters develop. And even mention the history of the two
and how Stanley founded Radiator Springs.
TSS: In The Art of Cars, they’ve got a small
storyboard-like thing that details Radiator Springs’ beginnings; unfortunately, I can’t really make out what
the storyline of it is supposed to be…
I think I can make out that
story:
[spoil]In 1909, there was a car named Stanley heading along a dusty road. He hadn’t had
a drink for ages, and eventually, the cap on his radiator popped off due to its heat. All hope seemed lost, when
something glinted in his windshield. He headed towards it, and found a spring (As in water spring). After
quenching his thirst, he hit on the idea of opening up a business of charging cars to stop and drink here.
Eventually, more people settled down around this Spring for Radiators, and Radiator Springs was
born.[/spoil]
I reckon Stanley just had the misfortune to pass on, be it by natural causes or
in an accident, before I-40 got built.

RMS (concerning the
spoiler): That’s interesting. So he almost died of thirst before realizing that the answer was
right in front of his face, huh? Sounds like a story that my sister and I made up once.
So he made people
charge for a drink? How crude…
What an inspiring
story. I wonder if Lizzie just drove by, then noticed Stanley. Then the two fell in love.
TSS: if i’m correct , she talks about Stanley asking her for a drive during " Cruisin’ " and how
she kept saying no . Maybe thats how they fell in love <3 <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/love2.gif” alt=“:loves:” title="In
Love" />
It could be that they fell in love when Staley first founded RS like she came
as a traveler, and then they fell in love, got married, and Stanley died.
Or did he? Could it be that he
didn’t die, maybe lost forever.
I think he died. Maybe of old age. I think somewhere in the movie, Lizzie hinted that he died. I’ll have to
watch the movie again.

You ever notice how the statue of Stanley bares a striking resemblance to Mater in fact they
both have the same “buck teeth”.
Maybe they are related?
yeah they kinda look alike.
Ya, know, in the court sence you’ll see pictures on the wall and 1 is Stanley, and as you see him you’ll see
that he has a gold tooth!
