Looney Tunes

This jus kinda dawned

on me so I decided to bring this topic up.

For me, they’ve inspired me to become an animator and

developed my artistic sense of humor.

Who’s your favorite character? (Gotta luv Bugs

)
Have they made any influence in your views of cartoons overall?
Do they and Pixar have any

similarities?

Jus putting it out therre for ya. Any other opinions/comments welcome.

That’s all

folks!

The Looney Tunes

classics are just incredible. I’ve always loved Daffy Duck, especially in episodes with Bugs Bunny, as the

banter between the two of them is just hilarious. And the style of drawing and animation in Looney Tunes is so

unique, as well- there’s just something about it, even the way the backgrounds are coloured, that is so

different from anything else out there.

But, although Warner Bros. Looney Tunes and Pixar are both very

creative and deserving of praise, they are very different. Looney Tunes is slapstick, with very unconventional

storylines, whilst Pixar does have a lot more character development.

Heheh – I just watched some old Looney Tunes cartoons last night

with my sister, actually. Great stuff…

I grew up on cartoons: Looney Tunes, Animaniacs*,

Pinky and the Brain*, Ren and Stimpy, and Tiny Toons* are just a few.

I practially know a third/fourth of the Bugs Bunny shows by heart…as I’ve seen them so many times.

As

lizardgirl stated, the Looney Tunes series are more of

a slap-stick type humor – with wacky gags and kid-friendly jokes – …making them a wee bit different from

Pixar concerning style.

My favorite character is Marvin the

Martian, by the way. I love characters without mouths…for some reason.

 • Dad worked

on these. He directed Animaniacs, so you’ll probably see his name in the titles of

pretty much every one of those shows.

Yep, Go Bugs!

Mitch- A little

OT, but my friends and I are all obsessed with Pinky and the Brain! So, yay for your Dad!

Daffy Duck all the way!

I loved Looney Tunes. I used to

watch it when I was a kid. Bugs Bunny was my favorite. He is such a classic.

Bugs Bunny is the coolest!

Speedy Gonzales is probably my second favorite. He is so

funny and cute too.

Haha – thanks! Dad

would appreciate it.

The Star Swordsman - Oh gosh, I love Speedy

Gonzales! Him and Pepe Le Pew are another of my favorites.

Road Dunner and Coyote are classics. It is so funny how

Coyote keeps failing and keeps getting up.

Oh Please Im a veteran Looney Tunes fan. Chuck Jones was a cartoon GOD!!! He directed

the best Looney Tunes period. Some the other directors were great too. Tex Avery was also brilliant, but I feel

he did not come into his own till he went to MGM with his Droopy cartoons and his Woolfy cartoons. There was also

Screwy Squirrel. His work as MGM was his best.

My favorite cartoons are the Wile E Coyote and Road Runner

cartoons by Chuck Jones , but he had other greats. I could spend hours listing brilliant Chuck Jones directed

Looney Tunes shorts.

Looney Tunes did start to loose it’s way in the 60’s and by the 70’s the cartoons

were just garbage. The 30’s 40’s and 50’s were really when the best cartoons came out.

I love

Looney Tunes! I wish they were on TV like they used to be. The Chuck Jones ones were almost always good. He was

probably my fav director of those. I really liked Daffy Duck (dont know why) but my fav character is Marvin the

Martian. I just think he’s so cute as a ball with just eyes! :stuck_out_tongue: and the fact that he was kinda dressed as a

Roman soldier (with the brush helmet and everything) yet with sneakers!

Did anyone else see Looney Tunes: Back in Action ? I thought that

was great!! It was like a feature- length Waner Bros. cartoon!!

Bill - Sorry Bill, but I

hated it. The story wasn’t exactly a masterpiece, although I do have to admit that I was cracking up in a few

parts (namely the whole salute to the “Duck Dodgers” joke). :stuck_out_tongue:

Now Space

Jam – that was cool. It was’t that good either, but I did enjoy watching it.

Space

Jam was a fun ride! :sunglasses:

Gasduude - Cha – it was cool! The only reason I went to see it at first was

because my mom worked on it, but then I ended up really liking the film. (snigger)

Mitch - Your mother worked on it? That is so

amazing!

Mitch –

Man, that is cool! Your parents seem to have been everywhere! :sunglasses:

Haha – yeah,

it’s pretty cool. Do any of you guys have relatives who are in the animation business?
