well, I say, if you make a 2nd movie, you HAVE to make a 3rd, leaving of with one sequel, just doesn’t feel right.
DocKenobi: Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield’s new series of inspirational books: BigMac Burger for the Soul.
TS2: I don’t know about the others, but I certainly ain’t hatin’ Madagascar. They’re great popcorn movies. Kinda fluffy and tasty, like cotton candy (There I go with the food analogies again). I like Madagascar as much as say Ice Age, just less than Pixar movies.
annaborjack: In 2012, the journey ends (Return of the King tagline), and the saga will be complete (Revenge of the Sith tagline).
Madagascar 3: Are We Home Yet?
but there isn’t a 2012 series, I don’t see any movies called 2007 or 1985.
I for one haven’t seen the sequel… I lost interest in Madagascar 2 when the promotional material looked anything but fun (in my opinion)… It looked forced and cheep, and somewhat uninspiring…
The prospect of a third… Scares and horrifies me… I can deal with children liking the franchise and then My having of the ability to utilize the material within the franchise to aide in the teaching I will produce!
I say, why not. The producer said they’ll be getting the animals back to New York this time. I’d like to see them get a happy ending this time, with Alex dad and mom. They said the Penguins and King Jullien would be in it too. I like the show, I think its really funny Much better than the movies.
Meh.
I absolutely LOVED the first one. As a matter of fact, when it first came out, I saw it like 6 times in one day.
The second was cool IMO. Not the best, but not the worst either.
But the idea of a third one annoys me. I understand the sequel (because the first had an open ending) but (from what I could remember) two didn’t have an open ending… so a third one does not make much sense. (just like my babbling… sorry, guys.)
I do really love King Julian though. He’s awesome. But for some reason the penguins annoy me… (don’t kill me! D: ) the whole thing with their leader marrying a bobblehead doll was funny, though.
Well what I didn’t like about it was that it shows the uncreativity of Nickelodeon today when they don’t let cartoonists come up with their own ideas anymore and just have DreamWorks make a bunch of spin-offs for them so they can call them Nicktoons (remember shows like Rugrats and Rocko’s Modern Life? Those were Nicktoons!). In fact, too many of their shows now are spin-offs and not anything original.
As for Madagascar 3 I don’t care much either way, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they did.
They have to do a sequel! I mean, how else are Alex and the gang gonna get back to New York? Besides, I watch these movies for the penguins anyway.
Umm… the first Madagascar was OK. But the second one was… well, not good IMO. I fell asleep in the middle of it, I mean really… It was so boring. I probably won’t see Madagascar 3, atleast not in the cinemas.
I haven’t seen the 2nd one, but the first one was pretty cool I guess. Do I think DW could pull it off?? Maybe. Will they? No. They want $, not <3 .
I actually liked the 2nd one better. I’m sure they could pull off a third one, but will they? I don’t know yet.
You should check out the second one - it was fun.
I would like to see it, but wer’e short on $, so I only get to see limited movies. I only go to the cinema once a year
I suppose Pixar’s movies are probably the ones that you like to see in theatres?
Try checking out a local library for a copy of Madagascar 2. I’ve found that that’s usually the cheapest route to go. I don’t know what your local library system is like, but the one in my area has quite a good selection of DVD’s. Even new ones!
Uuum, mostly Pixar movies. My b-day in June 29th, so the one film I get to see is usually my birthday movie, which I gat to pick. Last year, however, a week after seeing Up on my b-day we saw Ice Age 3!! I love all 3 of those. And no, my library does not have “modern” films. They mostly have black/white pictures, like Buster Keaton movies. I love those
Ah, well, those kinds of b/w classics are a lot of fun too. Maybe someone you know might have a copy of Madagascar 2 that you could borrow, either that, or watch for it on tv - they’ll show it sooner or later.
I like the Ice Age movies too, although my favourite non-pixar animated film recently would have to be How To Train Your Dragon - it was very well made. Coraline and Fantastic Mr. Fox are also really good though.
The first Madagascar was on the better end of mediocre, the second one was absolutely awful. I watched it by myself and I was still embarrassed by how juvenile it was. There was nothing clever, nothing entertaining, it wasn’t even funny because of its stupidity, it was just plain awful. The worst was the running gag with the granny, it wasn’t funny the first time and it just became infuriating by the 50th time.
I knew as soon as I saw Madagascar 2 that a second sequel would be on the way, but I have no intentions of seeing it.
I’m not the only one who thinks so about the granny! Glee!
What was so funny about her in the first completely disappeared in the second. In the original it was funny because it was unexpected, but she’s become a major character almost by now D:

I admit it, the Granny gag was a bit more annoying and weird this time.
However, I do think your going a bit over board with the negative.
The Penguins storyline was the best part for me along with King Julien.
I despised the first one (sorry to say), so I’ve never had any interest in the sequels.
