This is true. They will make a Madagascar 3. The second one was so good. Why ruin it like Dreamworks did with the first two Shreks. Plus Jeffery Katzenberg will write the screenplay.
yes! Shrek 1 and 2 in my opinon were both awesome! But, once part 3 was just god awful! I wanted to run out of the movie theater screaming!
Same with the 2 madagascars, both good, but if they made a 3rd, I just don’t know. Also, I think they’d try to overdo the whole “melman and gloria” thing, which I thought was kind of strange to begin with.
It was a funny movie though. I just got finished watching it for the second time… still, a third one, not a good idea, especially with the series out now.
One of Dreamworks’ most faults is it’s stubbornness- they are unwilling to move on, and like to play it safe by sticking to their successful franchises, yet they moan on about how they don’t get approval for creativity (through, well, for example, the Academy Awards). And that really, really grinds my gears - greed does not come into creativity, so they need to stop making these lame slapstick films and start producing films that come from one’s heart, not from one’s greed.
But, alas, with the current mindsets of DW that’ll never happen…
I’m okay with them capping it off with a trilogy… “one more for the road”, as they always say. The first and second are decent with me (with the second scoring more points in my book), so maybe third time lucky? But please, please, get them back to New York by then!
1-make money
2-be dreamworks
3-lets good actors in on the sets once in a while…
4-give those actors doughnuts
5-oh yeah…and get the animals back home to America…very important. High on the list…
I’m not likin’ this. Madagascar was like my favorite DreamWorks movie…and the second one was enjoyable but not as good as the first. I don’t want DreamWorks to go down even furthur by ruining one of my favorite movies. I’ll bet they’re rushing to get it finished, so the end product won’t even look so good (like the Penguins of Madagascar television show…the animation was really bad and incomplete, which sucks 'cause I liked the penguins very much.)
Hey, I like The Penguins of Madagascar. I made a topic on it a week or two ago. I agree the animation isn’t great, but it makes me chuckle, and I like the way the Penguins walk.
Ha, that’s my favortie one as well. I love the music they play during the game. So epic.
As for what a third Madagascar would be about, I don’t really care as long as New York is invloved at some point. They’ll proabaly just end up in yet another Arkican setting, like Zanzibar or something.
Sorry if I offended you guys…it’s just that the least they could do is make sure the animation looks good so people don’t get the idea that it’s a rushed cartoon.
the thing i have about madagascar is that its funny but so stupid its not funny funny if you know what I’m sayin’
It’s Family Guy and the latest seasons of Simpsons kinda funny, ie stupid.
Not at all, BDD. I have to side with you. Dreamworks is like the fast-food of animation. Very tasty and quick (their production cycle is two films a year) but ultimately not satisfying and bad for your health (heart and soul wise). Regular consumers of Dreamworks products may experience a tendency to spout scatological humour and random pop-culture references, while moving like Chuck Jones/Tex Avery cartoons. Not that I don’t enjoy a little Big Mac (oh-ho, the biggest oxymoron ever) every now and then… just that I don’t enjoy it on the same level as say, oven-roasted chicken and hot mash potato gravy with home-brewed chicken soup and strawberry cheese cake. It’s comparing a burger with fries to a five-course home-cooked meal of epic awesomeness. Once in a while, Dreamworks manages to fry a decent steak to go with that fries, but most of the time, it ends up burnt to a crisp.
Geez, was that analogy too long? Sorry, I wandered off-topic. I just haven’t eaten lunch yet.
Right. Madagascar 3. I vouch for DocKenobi’s return to New York. Please don’t pull a ‘back to square one’ and have them land back in Madagascar. That would suck.
Not at all, BDD. I know full well that it’s not the best show ever, in fact, I don’t really even like it all that much. I just enjoy watching it every now and again. It’s a show I jsut chuckle at, as opposed to full out crack-up, and love.
TDD: Oh contrair, my friend. A Big Mac may not be goo for your body, but it is most certainly good for your soul.
These movies are not meant to have a really serious story to them!!! Now you know I love these 2 films, and definitely would not mind seeing a third. These films are straight comedies, and DreamWorks and the public of moviegoers know that! Geez… well, the thing I like most about these two films is that the jokes are all very clever and well-constructed! The pop culture references make perfect sense, too, because these characters are sucked into an NYC mindset! If you don’t like these films, that’s fine. Just stop hatin’ on something that other people really have fun with and enjoy!!!
