oh, yeah, madagascar! ![]()
Hmmm. i really don’t see a point in making a sequel
though, i mean i really like it alone
so, when did you find out that they are making a M2?
I absolutely love
Madagascar, which is saying something. The characters are hilarious, the story is
pretty funny, and the settings/animation is beautiful.
I don’t really see any need for a sequel, either.
I suppose we have to know what Alex and his friends did after they found out they would be staying on the island
for good, but still. ![]()
Oh, and King Julien has to be the craziest and funniest computer animated
character I’ve ever seen. He has the coolest design, and his voice is so much fun to do. ![]()
CarFreak -DreamWorks announced on their website that
Madagascar would become a franchise simalar to that of
Shrek.
As of right now, Madagascar is expected
to have two sequels.
I am not sure if two sequels is such a good idea. It
was an okay one to begin with, but I didn’t like it. I think it should stick with just one.
Yea it had it’s moments. I think a sequel pushin it too. I knew 'bout the sequel for a minute now. I’ve had
hints that this one will be more focused on Alex though. ![]()
Madagascar certianly looked
nice enough, and it had some great moments, but the story was a total mess. It barely even had a
climax!
Hopefully the sequel will be better. (And wow, I really hope they change Marty’s voice. Chris
Rock is the main reason I have trouble watching the whole thing through.)
The best part about the movie was undoubtably Chris Rock. He made me at least
like the movie.
Meg -
1. I agree with the whole “story” thing – it was a complete mess.
The plot’s focus shifted from Marty, to Alex, and back to Marty again. At least there was enough humor in it to
keep me laughing, although I wish they hadn’t ripped off jokes from so many films.

2. Gotta agree with The Star Swordsman on
that last statement, though. I thought Chris Rock was awesome! Perfect actor to voice the character in terms of
“hippiness” and cocky personality. But that’s just me…
Eh. Sorry but I found Chris Rock’s voice to be just plain annoying - he just sounded
like he didn’t put any effort into, I guess. (I don’t think Rock is a very good actor, either - he needs to
stick to stand-up comedy.)
The
characters were good, but the storyline was all over the place. I liked the style of animation, though at times
it got a little irritating…All in all, it was a pretty good film, but I don’t think it’s worth them making a
sequel of it.
I liked Madagascar - I thought the
story was going well enough at first, but it definitely lost it in the end. And sequel D:
What was the funniest part for you guys in this movie?
My sister is watching the film right now…
Meg - Ah well
– we love what we love and we dislike who we dislike. I didn’t like Ben Stiller as Alex at first, but now I
think he was the perfect actor for the part. Everyone has different tastes. ![]()
lizardgirl - I agree with your statement on the story: it
was all over the place, as you said. It went from focusing on Marty, to dealing with
Alex’s problems, then to the lemurs, and then back to Alex and Marty again. None-the-less, I think the humor
kept it going…even if 90% of them were rip-offs. ![]()
I’ll go and see the sequel simply for King Julien.
(snigger)
The Star Swordsman - The funniest part for me? Umm…that would
probably be when Alex and Marty reunite on the beach. ![]()
“Well this SUCKS.”
Whole theater died over that one…

Yeah, the penguins were the best part of the entire movie, next to Chris Rock. How can one
resist such cute animals acting so unique?
Meg - Oh gosh, how could I
forget that one? I take it back – that is my favorite humorous part in the film.
![]()
Yeah, the penguins were really hillarious (did I spell that right?)!
The penguins were great – they had most of the funny
parts and kept the story going to some extent. I love that little Christmas short that they stared in. (snigger)
Bill - Just take off one of the "l"s and you’ve got
“hilarious”. ![]()
Thanks
