Wait…I can’t make fun of the mentally challenged in my story. It may be okay on television, and in movies, but making fun of the less gifted isn’t accepted in the world of high-class literature. Hmm…what other groups are there to make fun of?

Hi! I’m a not-quite-mentally-challenged-but-still-less-intelligent-than-most-intelligent-people guy!

I voted for Obama because he’s going to change the country. I don’t know HOW, but he said “hope and change” a lot, and that makes me feel warm and special.

I teach Reading Class at the local middle school. Instead of using popular books like Harry Potter or Moby Dick, I use bargain books that are so obscure that nobody can cheat on them online, even the ones with a higher-than-college reading level who just happen to read terrible books very slowly because the books seem like torture to them. I only do that three times a year, though. I usually just show them movies. Movies are GREAT for tests.

I let my eight year olds watch R-rated movies. And it hasn’t affected them at all. Sure, they swear, insult their friends, and beat up weaker kids, but at least they’re not mass murderers. At least, they won’t be until they’re older.

I think Avatar is the greatest movie ever made. Why? It’s because of the pretty pictures. There are also cool explosions. There’s also that whole “story” thing, but nobody cares about that. It’s all about the pretty pictures. Movies would be better if they had less stories, and more pretty pictures.

I also like Little Shop of Horrors with the happy ending. The original ending was stupid. I mean, why should bad people be punished? I think they should be rewarded for their wrong doings! If I wasn’t in the original test audience, booing at the top of my lounges, who knows how bad the movie would’ve turned out to be. Plus, the original ending makes my brain hurt.

I don’t like Pixar movies. They don’t have naughty language, violence, or even so much as ONE dirty joke. Why on Earth do people like these guys? Now South Park is a good show. It has LOTS of dirty words and violence. There’s also some “politcs-ical satire” that smart people keep talking about, but who cares about that?

I get that you’re trying to be sarcastic here, The Chicken Man, but I think this post is not only borderline offensive to mentally-challenged people, but it also implies that anyone who voted for Obama, fans of obscure but intellectually-stimulating literature, people who believe just because there is a correlation between violent movies and teenage disobedience doesn’t mean they share a causative link, fans of one of the most advanced motion picture ever made that just happens to have a very familiar storyline, people who liked the happy ending to Little Shop of Horrors, and people who dislike Pixar movies are “still less intelligent than most intelligent people.”

I’m sorry, but this thread serves no purpose beyond furthering elitist notions or pretentious cultural imperialism. If you want to share your opinions, please do so in a manner that doesn’t degrade others. And yes, some films and books may ridicule the mentally-challenged, but that doesn’t give you a ‘Get out of Jail Fee’ card to do the same.

If you feel this thread deserves to be reopened, please explain why either to me, or you can talk to any of the other Mods. Locking up now.
