Making of Pixar.

One of the jbs were you can have fun where you work.

To quote the

saying:

A person who loves his job never works a day in his life

Gasduude - Haha – I love that quote.

And rightfully so; I’d rather

have a low-paying job that was fun and exhilarating than one that is uneventful and down-right boring.

Pixar Animation Studios is definitely the former – you get to do something you love

and have a blast working on various projects all day long.

Wow – we sure

got off-topic there… (snigger)

(Heehee) Yep, we

did!

Back on topic, whats your guy’s favorite DVD menu screen?

Mine’s The

Incredibles, although A Bug’s Life has a pretty “spiffy”

look! :sunglasses:

I love the Incredibles. Both the first and second

discs.

Hey, nice question! This oughta get

us back on track again…

Personally, I consider all of the Pixar menu titles/screens to have

something special about them in each and every way – they each have their own distinct

“personalities”! I’ll just put an asterisk (*) next to my favorite:

Toy

Story - Plain and simple, with Andy’s tv screen serving as a source from which to portray bits

and clips of the movie while taking your time to select a feature to play. Plus, the hidden easter egg on the

dials/buttons on the tv set itself serve as a nice little extra bonus feature.

A Bug’s

Life* - Possibly the most soothing menu of all the Pixar dvds, this

particular menu allows one to sit back and relax while enjoying the sounds of melodic birds and a light breeze

whispering its tune in the backround.

Toy Story 2 - Same as

Toy Story 1, only a little more “fun” with the addition of a wheezing

Wheezy.

Monsters Inc. - Hip; simple; and fun. It’s hard to not get caught

up in the rhythmic, jazzy bounce of the music.

Finding Nemo - Peaceful and

quaint; a nice menu to observe and even more fun when listening to Marlin and Dory bickering in the backround.

The Incredibles - Badda-blam, badda-bing! This menu is engaging and features

a powerful, “upbeat” menu system complete with a fantabulous score composed by Michael Giacchino.

Cars - Rather short and uneventful, but fun to look at none-the-less. The

backround music really gets you “pumped up” for the film itself.

So yeah, the

A Bug’s Life menu is my favorite. However, that will probably all change when

Ratatouille comes out on dvd this December. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice list. I love how you

elaborate on every thing. The Incredibles does indeed have an upbeat tone to it. That is until you get to disc 2,

where everyting is on like a giant computer screen.

Mitch – Thanks

for the breakdown!

Yeah, I agree, A Bug’s Life has a menu that’s

simple, yet elegant…kinda neat! :sunglasses:

The Star Swordsman - Thanks!

Yeah, the second disc of The Incredibles does kind of look like a giant

computer screen (which is what it is, essentially). Pretty cool. I love how the little Jack-Jack symbol catches

on fire…

Gasduude - No problem!

Yeah, i

once spent an entire time just to watch the icons, and the backgrounds.

Yeah, I have to agree there! I also loved it when they

showed the storyboards of scenes that weren’t included in the final film. The other concepts they had were so

funny, and none of the characters looked nothing like they did in the final thing! It’s amazing to see that

development.

hehe. . . i

spend more time watching the making of bits than the movies themselves :stuck_out_tongue: I dont really have an all time

favourite but I did watch the long list of making of bits from the incredible recently (we actually watched it in

class to help us get ready for our character development projects)

BUT I have to say that my favourite

easter egg is the incredibles in sock puppets  just love it  after that its all the ones of dory swimming

into the screen and seeing the audience  cracks me up everytime

Just the work

environment at Pixar blew me away when I saw the making-of on The Incredibles. I

wanna work there soooooo bad!

Incredibles was definitely the movie that made

me wanna work for Pixar without a doubt. Something about the story and characters and dynamic effects hit me

deep.

Everything you said, I agree

with.

The Incredibles probably inspired me to make me a hard working person. After watching what they did

on the 2nd DVD, it changed my life so dramaticly, I can not even explain it.

Every part of the buffalo

Did you guys see the easter

egg of the first annual air show? I just found it recently. Ya gotta love easter eggs.

yep :stuck_out_tongue: did see the first annual

air show hehe

i think that the fact that they have so many easter eggs just shows the fun they

have making these movies. . . I mean, funny gags that not everyone who sees or buys the movie will know about. .
