Making of Pixar.

I love the behind the

scenes stuff on the Pixar dvd’s.

I just wanted to hear which documentaries, commentaries, etc is your

favourite. Write the reason as well, it’s more fun.

My favourite is “Making Nemo”. It was the

first one I saw and it immediately caught my interest I have had a pashion for the studio ever since. It

presented the studio as a great place to work, have fun, and yet work really hard to attain their great

movies.

Ooh, great topic!

I’d have to say the TI DVD was the best: It had so many great little finds, I

swear, you could spend hours playing around with it!

The Toy Story 2 (my fav

Pixar film) DVD had a great commentary…very informative, with lots of cool little

goodies!

First of all, welcome to Pixar Planet,

Rebosso! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

Secondly: My favorite special

features (documentaries, commentaries, etc…)? Hmm…let me see:

Favorite

documentary - My favorite documentary for a Pixar film would, more than likely, have to be the one

for Monsters Inc., simply because more information about this particular film was

revealed than for any other feature (save, perhaps, The Incredibles and the two

Toy Story films). It was quite informative and allowed viewers to explore the world

of Pixar Animation Studios a little more…and right from their own living room.

Favorite Commentary - Due to the fact that Finding

Nemo is currently my favorite of the Pixar films, I must also admit that the commentary for the

feature is just as fun to listen to.

“I found some chips.” - Bob Peterson :stuck_out_tongue:

Favorite Easter Egg - The first Pixar Animation Studios

International Airshow featurette on the Monsters Inc. dvd. I had

quite a fun time watching each contestant submit their own, uniquely-crafted planes for show. And, of course, the

music just made everything more enjoyable.

Perhaps I’ll think of more later after my

brain “reloads” with information.

(haha) Yeah, I remember that now! That was great!

It must be fun to be a

Pixar employee!

Yeah, me too. I haven’t watched some in a

while…

One thing I really like is the “Filmmakers Reflect” of

the Toy Story anniversary dvd. It’s so fun just to listen to those briliant guys talk. I like it when they tell

those funny stories and laugh out loud. And it’s great with the bloopers at the end.

Another little tiny

detail thing I like is at the Toy Story 2 anniversary dvd on the “John Lasseter profile”: It’s a brief

second shot of Lasseter in the storyboard room saying “ooh, I love riddles”. I just get a kick out of

that ( it just sais it all that Pixar is a fun place to work for) and it makes me want to go to Pixar even

more.

Rebosso – Yeah, the

Filmakers Reflect was a neat clip!

It’s sad, 'cuz Joe Ranft was one that was on there, and he died like

three months later…

Rebosso - Oh yeah, I love that little "Film Makers

Reflect" feature, as well. I love to laugh along with them. Heheh.

Gasduude - Cha – it is rather sad. I really miss Joe Ranft. I always wanted

to meet him, as he was a friend of my dad’s. Thank goodness he was a Christian…

I’ll tell you this much. Anything in the Incredibles is absoultely fun and amazing.

Everything!!! (see bolded word)

The Star Swordsman

– Yep! It is the best!

Mitch – Man, I keep forgeting

your parents are in the animation biz…that’s cool! I wish I could meet someone like that…

I’ll try to elaborate it a little more.

I can not

say wich one is my favorite. How can I when I lov all of them? They all made me laugh and learn something

new.

Here’s my

list:
Favorite documentaries: Making Nemo and

Making of The Incredibles, they were just so funny, so cool and so full of stuff

that make me want to work at Pixar!

Favorite commentary: The

Finding Nemo one. It was so funny, I was cracking up on the "Sea monkey has my

money" part!

Favorite easter eggs: The ones of

Finding Nemo, specially the ones with Dory!

Now, I wanna tell you

something: my Cars DVD doesn’t have the deleted

scenes! Why do you guys think that here in Portugal it happens? Please give me your

opinion.
When I first saw that the DVD didn’t have the deleted scenes, I was soooooooo frustrated! :frowning:

My Cars dvd does not have the deleted scenes either. I

think it’s weird because it says on the back “deleted scenes” and yet it doesn’t include them.

Maggie

and Rebosso – Yeah, I know: It stinks! The Cars DVD was Pixar’s

first non-two disc…I was really disappointed. I mean, I heard that it wasn’t going to have many bonus features

(from Upcoming Pixar and the like) but no commentary?! Just a commentary and I would

have been happy! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m sure this has been brought up in the Cars forums, but one thing that was good

about the Cars DVD was that easter egg “Boundin’” short…

Ditto on your DVD, Rebosso, mine certainly doesn’t…

I think generally, all of the stuff on

the extra DVD that came with Monsters, Inc. has to be the most in-depth and interesting stuff about Pixar, just

because they show you so much of what it’s like to work there! I like most of the commentaries, though the

Finding Nemo one makes me laugh the most.

Lizardgirl: My favorite MI extra was the little

Pixar Studios tour. What about you?

Haha –

thanks! Yeah, it’s pretty awesome. I only wish I could meet most of the people that my parents

know.

lizardgirl - Yeah, exactly! The Monsters

Inc. dvd definitely had the best selection of bonus features – the thing was loaded with junk.

(snigger)

I also like the Pixar Studio Tour, and the character turn-arounds

are always fun to look at. It’s helpful for if you want to learn how to draw a particular character from many

different angles.

The Pixar Fun Factory Tour, I

believe it was called … from the Monsters, Inc. DVD. It was when I watched that, I thought to myself 'This is

where I wanna be.’ I had always wanted to be an animator for Disney beforehand, but I saw these goofballs and

thought ‘OMG MY PEOPLE!’ xD

I just love it that they’re adults but they think with the imagination and

creativity of children, and they goof off and have fun but manage to get their work done.

Haha – yeah, I had the same reaction! I thought, "Man, I’m

not the only crazy person on the planet! I can live with these guys!"

(snigger)

When I saw it, I was like, Dude, this is my dream job now.

(Heehee) Same here!

Everything Pixar has/does is just completely how I would want it…from the

employees designing their own cubicles, to the Paper Airplane contest, to their Atrium, the non-stop scooter

riding…it’s all good!
