It’s well known by now that Disney is going to buy Marvel for $4 billion. I was thinking, and I thought that it would be cool if Marvel characters appeared in a future installment of Kingdom Hearts. Can you imagine seeing Sora, Goofy, Donald, and Captain America (or any other Marvel character) fighting side by side? Pure awesomeness.
I think I read about Kingdom Hearts and Marvel somewhere on IGN. Just speculation though. Personally, I wouldn’t want to see that. I don’t think the Marvel characters would fit in with the core idea behind Kingdom Hearts, Disney and Final Fantasy ,that well. It’s about mixing mainly the Disney animated features, classic Disney things (I consider Pirates to be in this group because of the ride)., or even just Disney films, especially if you put Pirates in this category. It’s about mixing things that really people know as a Disney thing. Marvel is its own beast entirely, and it has it’s own history and fanbase. Plus, like Disney, there seems to be that certain “Marvel feel” to the products they put out, and it’s very different than Disney. Anything with Marvel would have to be it’s own crossover. Now, would it be cool to see Sora swinging around with Spidey, or slashing through Heartless with Wolverine? Yeah, probably. But do you want to see him singing on stage with Hannah Montana? Certainly not. Just because Disney owns it doesn’t mean it should end up in Kingdom Hearts.
DocKenobi- I would hate to see Spidey dancing on stage with hanna montana. But Disney just wouldn’t do that. They let different properties stay true to themselves.
I know you think that it would be strange to see the Marvel characters in Kingdom Hearts, but strangeness is one of the things I’ve always loved about the series. Anyways, a Marvel world wouldn’t be all that out of place with all the strange worlds.
Actually, I meant would you like to see Sora with Hannah Montana, not Spidey, though I agree, that’s bad, too.
I think you kind of said it when you said Disney let’s properties stay true to themselves. Marvel is still it’s own thing. When Disney bought Pixar, they didn’t try to change Pixar. They let the company continue doing what it had done. I think the same will be true of Marvel. I really think all that will happen is Disney will begin to air Marvel TV shows, and eventually gain control over the movies. Unless, Tetsuya Nomura wants to use the Marvel properties, I don’t see it happening, and I would really prefer Kingdom Heart to stay as is.
I knew you would say that. What I meant to say is that Disney will slightly affect things at companies they’ve bought, but without going overboard. I don’t think that putting Marvel characters in a well known action game is going too far.
Thats one I thing I hope to not see. Im not a KH fan at all. I just hate the combination of Disney and Marvel
