I was wondering if anyone has run into a Trixie figurine that was made by mattel. The only place I even see one for sale is on kmart.com and I can’t even determine if it’s one of the “pixar replica” ones or just the 6 inch figurines that are like $6-$10.
What about Dolly as well, one of my friends is collecting the mattel figures and wants just Andy’s and Bonnie’s Toys. Of Bonnie’s Toys she has Buttercup, Mr. Pricklepants, and Peas in a Pod but cant find the others anywhere, online or in stores.
Also, does anyone know if it’s confirmed that Thinkway will have a Wave 3? or any info on what might be in it? I bought TSC Bullseye at Toy R Us today and it’s pretty cool. I think a trixie toy made by thinkway would be pretty cool, since Dolly, Peas in a Pod, Buttercup, and Pricklepants plushes from disney store are “close enough” for most collectors, but a plastic large trixie would complete the set.
I haven’t seen a Trixie or Dolly figure made by Mattel in their 6" range of action figures (although these characters may be included in Mattel’s 3.75" range of “collection” figures).
To my knowledge, Thinkway have indicated that there will be a “Wave 3” of their Toy Story figures, but no information has been provided to date. I’m hopeful that we will get some hints from SDCC later this week, but others have reported that Thinkway will simply be showing Wave 2 at SDCC.
All the main characters are basically done already by thinkway, Hamm has already been canceled and sorta replaced by the disney store one and Slinky has patent issues. I’m curious what characters are left (since they are presumably the plastic ones). Emperor Zurg, Stinky Pete, Trixie, Stretch, and maybe a few others are all I can even think off. And I would think Bonnie’s Toys would be more popular hence more profitable than bad guys. But who knows?
As far as the Trixie figure, I’m gonna assume the kmart.com is the pixar replica one that is a bit too small relative to the other ones. I’m really curious how some of these characters slipped through the cracks. Chuckles the Clown has essentially NO TOYs, not even a super small one. Trixie is only available as a pixar replica which to date I haven’t seen in stores and the very small “buddy pack” which look stupid anyway. I feel like Disney/Pixar/Mattel/Thinkway really dropped the ball on some profit off this movie.
Slink, that Trixie you saw on Kmart.com is part of Mattel’s Disney Pixar collector figure series (they go for around $11 each).
However, they don’t actually have it in stock. I tried ordering it a few weeks ago and they cancelled my order stating that the items were not available.
I still think it will be released eventually though. Lotso, Buttercup and Mr. Pricklepants from the collector line are starting to show up in stores so I would think we’ll see Trixie soon.
Well thats pretty bogus of kmart.com. Still curious why some of these toys like TSC bullseye and trixie are hitting stores so late. I figure they’d have a bunch right as the movie opens, then restock when it comes out on DVD. Seems these companies need better marketing.
I think the Rex is the same one that was exclusive to the 7-pack of figures (but I could be wrong). I’m pretty sure Big Baby and Lotos are new, unless they’re just proto-types of the 3.75" “collectors” versions.
The rex is the same one you can get in the 7 pack from Target. Or various sets of two I’ve seen at Target and TRU. However, Big Baby and Lotso in 6 inches, I have not seen to date. Shame they went the bad guy root, instead of the rest of bonnies toys route.
Saw the peas last night in person at Target. Also saw the Buzz/Twitch/Flashlight set. The peas are amazing, loved the sculpt, but I wasn’t convinced to spend $20 on the set just to get them. Yet. My Disney Store set is perfect for now…
